x The house is a converted barn and granary divided into two apartments one
for the owners and one for the guests. The property is decorated to a high standard with breath taking views over the surrounding countryside. Sun loungers. garden table and chairs are provided for our guests comfort so you may spend the days relaxing around the pool, the courtyard or the grounds soaking up the peace and tranquillity. A BBQ is provided in the courtyard. The apartment has one large bedroom, a lounge/diner, kitchen, shower room and a lobby with doors opening up onto the courtyard and a few steps away from the pool. The pool is 10 x 4 meters and is private but shared with the owners on occasions. There are beautiful views from the pool which has a covered area should you wish to eat round the pool. Dining out and shopping is no problem as we are 5 mins drive from Brantome, the Venice of the Perigord which is a small market town surrounded by the gently flowing river
Dronne. On one side of the rive is the splendour of the magnificent 9th century abbey and the oldest bell tower in France. On the other side is a maze of narrow streets with a wealth of restaurants, bars and shops. A bustling market fills the town every Friday morning where you can purchase all kinds of, produce, clothes, jewellery, souvenirs. Activities include, canoe hire, boat trips, fishing, tennis, rock climbing, horse riding. There is a municipal golf course 20 mins away in Perigueux which is the capital town of the Dordogne. Perigueux is a bustling town which has music festivals, night markets, shopping, museums, art galleries as well as plenty of restaurants and bars. The pretty little town of Bourdeilles is approximately 15 mins away where there is a stunning chateau, restaurants and canoe hire. From St Crepin de Richemont you can travel south to visit the ancient towns of Sarlat, Montignac and Souillac and the river Dordogne. There are many caves to visit on the way also. Perigueux is the county town of the Dordogne and has markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Piegut has a large market on Wednesdays and the market in Brantome is every Friday. St Esteph boasts a pretty man made beach on the lake with pedloes, cafes etc. There are many lakes if you wish to fish. Locally there is rock climbing and horse riding. The apartment has central heating if required but this is subject to a separate charge. Normally this is not necessary during the season.

Summary: We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay in this lovely gîte. Sandra and Alun gave us a very warm welcome and were very helpful on where to visit and recommendations on where to eat. The accommodation is very comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing by and using the pool. We particularly enjoyed exploring Brantôme, Périgueux, Bourdeilles, the caves at Villars and the surrounding area. We highly recommend this gîte and would stay here again. Thank you Sandra and Alun

Summary: We have just spent three wonderful weeks at this location just outside Brantôme. Alun and Sandra are lovely people who are always at hand if required .The accommodation is well equiped in terms of fridge, freezer, cooker, comfortable bed and lounge. The pool and outside seating area was much appreciate. Once again thank you both for helping make our holiday truly memorable one.

Summary: The property was as advertised, comfortable, quiet, and surrounded by beautiful countryside. There were some charming towns and villages to visit within a short drive. The pool was well maintained and inviting and used only by us. Sandra and Alun were very friendly and helpful.

Summary: We had 2 weeks in this very comfortable Gite. The location was quiet & peaceful. Fully lived up to the description on line. Very nice friendly owners, who made us very welcome. Beautiful views, lovely pool. Nothing negative to say about it.

Summary: Stayed for 2 weeks in this lovely apartment- part of a classic French property with a garden and private pool. Although secluded the property is less than 10 minutes drive to Brantome with its many good restaurants and market. Some fine walks in the local area as well. Our hosts, Sandra and Alun, were very helpful about places to visit and great company over a glass or two of wine. We cannot recommend this property or location highly enough.

Summary: Nicely secluded spot to spend a week or so. Sandra and Alun were always ready to help where required but did respect our privacy. The weather was not the warmest (average 22-23 degrees) but still had a great time. The week before was apparently late 30-40 degrees which would have been a struggle due to lack of air-conditioning.

Summary: A fantastic little gite in an ideal location where hosts Sandra and Alun couldn't do enough for us. Only a short distance from Brantome where you'll find a collection of bars and restaurants set upon the riverside. The pool is amazing with stunning views, what a find - thankyou.

Summary: We had a fantastic time at the site. The house is very clean and has everything you need to have a comfortable stay. The bedroom stays cool on hot days. There is a big pool outside which is perfect on hot days. You can sit outside under the pergola next to the pool, where you have a beautiful view over the area. The holiday home is located on a hill (great view), close to a forest for nice walks. There is a château nearby where you can walk towards. Alun & Sandra are lovely people, they give you a warm welcome on arrival, They are always available for questions or for a little chat. Alun cleans the pool daily and Sandra makes sure you have plenty of fresh towels available. There is plenty to do in the area, Brantome is close by (5 minute drive) where there is a great bakery & 2 supermarkets. There is a nice market on Friday. There are plenty of château's in the area, you have very nice walks close by, you can also rent a canoe in brantome. We would highly recommend spending your holiday here!

Summary: The property was in a great location to get out and about. Sandra and Alun are fabulous hosts, around when you need them but not overbearing. The bed was very comfortable, the pool cleanliness was well maintained by Alun. Thank you both for making us feel so welcome and at home.
