Summary: This was an absolutely amazing resort. We visited during spring break. It was well balanced with nature with a portion in a jungle setting, a beautiful large beach, and a huge pool. Beach chairs all had umbrellas unlike some resorts. The Wild Beach was a moderate walk down the shore. Great buffets as well as several specialty restaurants. We were happy with every one. Many different bar areas, a pool bar, and bars at the beach. A lot of different activities happening each day. Our son was able to have interaction with the wild monkeys that live here which was his favorite memory. You will not be disappointed booking your vacation here. Perfect for a family trip. It will please everyone.

Summary: Nice , family oriented resort , lots of kids , food was good , little old rooms but location and jungles and animals it was very cool but peacocks gets a little noisy ( mate season) , stuff is amazing , Thanks Daniel Good experience

Summary: I was at the Tucan, room 1727: this room faces a nearby property, their air condition unit or pool filter engine is directly across, behind the property wall, so there is a constant loud noise coming from there. As a consequence, it was unpleasant being on the balcony or even keeping the sliding door open for fresh air. I did point out this issue to the concierge, but the answer was a cold and careless :it does not depend on us".

Summary: Gorgeous property lots to see. Beautiful pathways, pool is deep and clean, lots to see lots to do. Food was better than other hotel chains. No one out of four of us got sick. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Only downside was getting woken up daily around 8:00am/9:00am by house keeping. We didn’t have a do not disturb tag for our door. We asked for one from house keeping and front desk but one never arrived in our room.

Summary: The food was extraordinary. The staff very helpful. At a lunch buffet a chef walked by and I asked if they had their ceviche that day, he said no but asked where I was seated and said he would see what he could do. 10 minutes later he brought me a plate of ceviche well presented ringed with fresh lime and cucumber and tortilla chips!

Summary: First time in Riviera Maya. LOVED our stay at the Iberostar Waves Tucan (essentially the same place as Waves Quetzal). Resort was absolutely beautiful. The jungle was filled with wildlife. Our jungle facing room was visited by spider monkeys every afternoon. So cool! The room itself was fine but on the small side. Not a biggie for us. The beds were comfortable and the a/c worked well. Water pressure was occasionally an issue. The beach and pool area was fantastic. Plenty of places to lounge. Appreciated that they “policed” people who put their stuff out early to “save” lounge chairs. My whole family thought the food was fantastic. So much to choose from. Particularly enjoyed the hibachi restaurant and the breakfast buffets. Service across the board was great. Can’t single out anybody because they were all wonderful. Was not an issue for us, but if you have mobility issues, some of the walking paths are slippery and uneven. Gym/ fitness area was small and if you are a serious tennis player, the courts are soft and spongy. Evening entertainment was ok. Fire show on beach cut short due to rain- bummer. Cab into Playa del Carmen $20 round trip. Super fun! Shopped, enjoyed street entertainers and had a great dinner. Felt completely safe. Generally a wonderful trip. If you are expecting Four Seasons- this isn’t it. If you want a nice, affordable, Mexican vacation in the jungle with an awesome stretch of beach, you could do a lot worse!
