Positive: Hotel was quaint with a lot of history. Gardens definitely needed some work. Hotel was clean staff very helpful,

Negative: We had to go down a flight of stairs for the toilet - not practical in the middle of the night.

Positive: Simply stunning property from the entrance and driveway through to the hotel itself and the pool, gardens and gym. The room was large, sunny with a great view and the bed was supremely comfortable. What made it even better was the staff, who couldn’t do enough to help and make you feel welcome. The breakfast was also fantastic and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Negative: Absolutely nothing.

Summary: Simply fantastic hotel in a great location for spending time in Coimbra.

Positive: Lovely room in the modern wing, although it was a bit of a walk from the main hotel. Lovely breakfast and spa. The service was great.

Negative: Thought the food in the restaurant was little too over fussy.

Positive: Unique property with beautiful grounds to wander about, truly impressive trees. If you stay here you should really take the time to explore. But not as amazing as the University botanical garden so don’t skip that one.

Negative: It is obviously a place that has seen much better days. Very few and inconveniently located power outlets to charge devices in the room. Property is quite a distance from the city, so you have to take Uber or walk 30 min. Restaurant menu is uninspiring, not enough gluten free options. BTW, the university campus library did not impress us.
