Positive: I liked everything Warm welcome & hospitality from hosts. Felt at home straightaway. Beautiful, stylish & spacious room - queen suite (given free upgrade, thank you), with very comfortable, firm bed. House also attractively decorated in 'shabby chic' style. Views over Coimbra & surrounding area & peaceful away from city centre. Delicious breakfast...really a feast! Such variety & quality & a small cake fresh from the oven to finish. Positive: A stunningly beautiful, stylish, clean, comfortable, and welcoming place a lovely 10-minute walk from the heart of the city. Paula and Ricardo are wonderful hosts who welcome you, give you excellent tips to visit the sites, and prepare the most amazing breakfast. The perfect reviews are well deserved. We highly recommend this place.

Negative: Some reviewers comment on street traffic noise. We did not hear it.

Positive: Amazing service. Paula goes out of her way to make her guests comfortable and happy. She takes care of the minimum details. Hotel is cozy. Breakfast is delicious! Homemade jellies, jams, cakes, coffee, toast with egg, yogurt, fruit, etc. Luiz was very attentive to anything that we needed during breakfast. We had breakfast in the garden served on a beautiful set table with linens. The hotel’s location is great! 10 minute walk from downtown. Very clean and confortable beds.

Positive: This place is a gem! The owner, Paula, was super friendly, kind, and welcoming. She gave us the interesting history of her beautiful home and Coimbra, plus things to do in the area. The breakfast was over the top amazing. So many yummy things to choose from at the breakfast buffet. The server super nice, and he was excellent at his job! For example he would bring us another cup of coffee just as we finished the last. The entire place is immaculately decorated and clean. The rooms are gorgeous and beds are very comfortable with high quality linens. They have very nice towels and provide soap and shampoos. Very generous. After Paula's introduction and information session she mentioned that she hoped our room would be quite enough as it was the week of all night parties for the graduates.

Negative: We only wished that Paula would have told us when we booked, rather than at arrival, about the all night parties and noise because we could hear the Very loud music playing from about 10PM-6AM. We did request a quiet room when we booked. Hmmmm. That morning my husband noticed a couple moving from what seemed like it would be a quiet room due to its location. He asked if we could move to that room. The staff was very accommodating for the move. Thankfully it was indeed Much Much quieter in that 2nd room and the next two nights we could not hear the music and slept very well. So if you are planning on visiting around the last week of May, ask about the graduation festival, and make Sure you get a quiet room to start with if you need one. We would definitely return. Maybe not during the festival though.

Positive: Excellent location, beautiful views, well-equipped guest house, extremely comfortable. Owner Paula showed us to our room, gave us maps and history of Coimbra and Portugal in general. The story of Pedro and Ines was especially fascinating! We so appreciated the depth of information and the pride she had in her home and country. The amenities including the drawing room access to a Nespresso machine and tea at any time, and in particular the amazing breakfast served outside on patio or in dining room as desired went above and beyond for us.

Summary: Excellent guest house located right on the Camino and near all Coimbra historical sites.

Positive: Wonderful and friendly place to stay. Clean and well run. Excellent breakfast, all home made.

Negative: Just as other reviewers have mentioned, the situation of the hotel is on a very steep hill with a lot of traffic. That being said, I would still recommend it highly.

Positive: This was all around incredible. We were greeted with a genuine welcome and the entire staffs passion to make our stay perfect was obvious. It was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was amazing. Best we had during our 3 week stay in Portugal!

Negative: Because of the excellent location, there can be some street noise.

Summary: Can’t wait to stay again! Paula and Luis were wonderful.
