Summary: The Hotel Peteani is a family-owned, professionally run, perfect little hotel a short walk downhill from the historic hilltop town center of Labin. Although it is on a fairly busy road running up the hill, it is super-quiet and peaceful. It is clean and well-maintained, staff are polite and genuinely helpful, beds are very comfortable. With few eating options nearby, the restaurant here takes on more importance. Breakfast is very good, although if you want real coffee instead of machine-instant you have to ask for it. The restaurant also serves dinner, which is a bit pricey but generally excellent; if you reserve a table, it seems to be yours for the night (warning: several nearby restaurants are closed on Mondays, even in high tourist season). Overall, the hotel seems to be committed to service; our host, Mr. Peteani, tracked down a pair of earrings my wife left behind, and mailed them to her, a kindness we will remember for a long time. Personally, I will seek out a reason to return to Labin just so I can stay in this outstanding hotel.

Summary: This was a perfect location and clean and comfortable. However, we couldn't get the shower to work. The next morning the receptionist said it was modern system with a pipe under the tub faucet however I did not detect any thing under the faucet when I looked.

Summary: A recently renovated villa. It offers good service and an excellent restaurant. There is a free car park and it is a short uphill walk to the splendours of Labin's old town. There is some traffic noise from the neighbouring road.

Summary: Beautiful boutique hotel within an easy walk to old town Labin. The room was spotless and spacious. Great breakfast included and the restaurant for dinner was excellent. Excellent value in Istria; good and central base for exploring the region.
