Positive: Property is rustic and on the old side, but well maintained. Our room was clean, the bed was comfy, shower was good. Restaurant and bar is quite good. Breakfast was included in our rate and it was very good. Restaurant staff were excellent. Special mention to Carlos who spoke English and helped us with a tour of the area and also hiking to a small local village in the canyon.

Negative: The view of the canyon from the upper rooms is absolutely spectacular, but be warned there are 244 steep steps (I counted) plus hills from reception to these rooms. Hotel manager could have been more helpful. If it wasn't for Carlos, we wouldn't have known the property had a pool and spa (which is in great condition), or that tours were available. We don't expect staff to speak English but some effort to respond to our very basic spanish and google translated questions would have helped make our stay more enjoyable.

Summary: Rustic, but clean hotel with spectacular views if you're fit enough

Positive: The staff was friendly. The hotel was located close to the hikes I wanted to do.

Negative: There are a lot of stray dogs in town and around this property that bark through the night.

Negative: The property is on very steep hills, lots of steps to get to our room but they will pick you up any time and drive you up and down. The pool was very cold. Dogs can be noisy at night.

Positive: The view from the outside of the room was lovely if you pay for the room at the very top of the hill but you can’t see the view from your bed inside the room.

Negative: The reception is at the bottom of the hill and the rooms with a view are at the top of the hill overlooking The Valley. Okay if you are younger but not really great if you are older people with less mobility. There is no wifi in the rooms unless you are at the reception or in the dining hall a good 5min walk up or down a large flight of stairs and at 125 euro per night this is not budget pricing wifi should be in the rooms. The rooms overlooking the canyon have no chairs on the terrace so it’s a lovely view but there is nowhere to sit to look out and if you take the chairs from inside the room to sit out on the terrace the local dogs come and bother you. No curtains on some of the windows so the sunlight comes through at around 7.30am.

Summary: A nice view if you pay the extra for the canyon view but would recommend spending the extra money to stay at the hotel n
