Positive: Lovely host, only a 10 minute walk to the centre, 5 minute walk to the lake. All facilities modern and new and Air Con provided at a very competitive rate. Alvaro is a lovely host and will look after all your needs.

Positive: The room we ended up with (2 double beds, a/c, TV, balcony, private bathroom) was extremely comfortable. The bathroom very clean - although the sink did look like it might detached itself from the wall. There was a shared kitchen and a fridge. The WiFi was good. My room review is for the room we took and not for the room we booked on booking.com

Negative: There were some communication issues between both parties. I thought I had booked a twin room, but when I messaged to confirm the bed arrangement I was told that would cost extra. This was a confusing listing on booking.com. In any case , we communicated again and I accepted a twin with fan rather than a/c. When we arrived, we were told that room was not available and there was only a double or the room we eventually took at the higher price. I suggested to the owner that he sorts his listing's out on Booking.com but he blamed the site. Additionally, the map location on Booking.com is slightly off. The entrance to the guest house is around the corner of Calle Humberto Cerda on Avienda Enrique Espino. When we arrived, we had to ask local traders for help in locating the actual address as there was no indication on the outside of the building that it was the place we were looking for. This was being rectified by a sign writer when we left. The building has painted flowers on the outside which to be fair is a clue to the address, but a lot of buildings do have this sort of decoration so it was not a given. No drinking water available

Positive: Nice building in a nice part of town, lots of kitchen facilities to use, wardrobe table chair fan and air con in the room are welcome additions. Owner was friendly. Located near the lake look-out with amazing views of the volcano in a safe part of town. Bed was comfortable and everything in the room was clean.

Negative: One pillow was too thick one was too thin, window was shuttered so unable to have natural light without the noise as you would with a window pane, building is not labeled, it's a homestay not a hostel so you wont get the usual help you would with a hostel, falsely labelled i would say. The building is not labelled and the location on the map is wrong, opposite corner of the road, building is yellow with flowers around base. Needs a bath mat and small light in bedroom as main light is very bright.

Summary: Homestay is tidy and clean.
