Summary: Absolutely amazing Inn and close to Main St. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Planning on another trip back next spring and will stay here again.

Summary: Guests beware: this is a self-proclaimed B&B that provides breakfast to only some guests. The only way to know that before making a NONREFUNDABLE reservation is to somehow understand that because "breakfast" is not included as a "amenity," the room in this "B&B" doesn't include breakfast. Clearly, I am not the first to have this misunderstanding, as the room has at least three notices stating in large letters, "this room does not get breakfast." When I mentioned this, the proprietor stated in part that the high price of eggs made it impossible for a breakfast to be provided -- with a room cost of almost $300 nightly. Never ever again.

Summary: Buyer beware: Have you ever heard of a B&B that only provides breakfast to some guests? I hadn't. It turns out that the only way someone knows that a particular room doesn't include breakfast, prior to paying, is to surmise the same from the fact that breakfast isn't included as an "amenity," or, after making a NON REFUNDABLE reservation, reading the fine print AFTER paying a non-refundable reservation. When I mentioned my surprise, the proprietor also noted that my reservation, about $300/night, wasn't at a high enough price point to cover the price of eggs. (Yes, he really said that.) I wasn't actually in the Inn, but some in a row of rooms about 5 feet from the road. Worst value in a B&non-B I've experienced, alas.

Summary: This is a beautiful inn with rooms available in the main house. We stayed in the annex and unfortunately the room was too bright and stuffy to sleep properly for our one night stay. However, on the plus side the annex had access to the main house which had a beautiful sitting room with games and food and drinks available. I would conclude : consider paying more and staying in the house itself.

Summary: Super cute place. The onsite staff member was amazing. My only complaint is that our room smelled heavily of cigarettes. Not fresh. Like it was an old smoking room. We bought air freshener while we were out and had to spray repeatedly. Everything else was amazing

Summary: My daughter and I had a wonderful time in New Milford and at the Homestead Inn. First and foremost, the staff was wonderful and welcoming. We were greeted upon arrival and Antonio offered many helpful suggestions regarding area eateries and things to do - even places to park on our side trip to Yale in New Haven! Catherine was also very accommodating, going to extra lengths to assure that my daughter with food allergies was safe. The property was very clean and the area very charming. Restaurants, shops, etc. all walkable.

Summary: There was a bit of an error either on our end, or the online booking end from hotels.com. We thought we were staying in the main house and didn't realize until the day of that we were booked in the Annex. We didn't get breakfast, or to stay at the building itself, and instead we're booked into a different block of rooms off to the side. It was a little nosey being right next to the street. The room itself was good, a decent size, a comfortable bed, good working AC, and a TV. Overall it was fine for what it was, but if you're booking for a place to go based off the room itself and the breakfast, make sure you double check your booking, or call them directly.
