Positive: The place is relatively cheap, there aren't many options at all in the area unfortunately. The owner was friendly, and there was only one couple staying there so it was quite private.

Negative: 1) The shower room is outside in another building. 2) There aren't really walls separating the rooms, I mean there is the door and the wall but then above the door there is nothing, so a) you can hear everything if you have neighbours b) all the smoke from the fire downstairs enters the room, your bag and all your clothes end up smelling of smoke. 3) Bed is hard as a rock, even by Japanese standards. 4) It's REALLY cold in November, even with the fire on downstairs. 5) Location isn't great, a 15-20 minute walk from the station.
