Positive: You get your whole cabin with tv, fridge, microwave, private toilet, aircon and with loft bed. It’s a full room at the price of a bed!!! At such an incredible price. Amazing!!! Positive: Easy access to the Takachiho area, and very spacious stay with a kitchen.

Negative: We booked the “Quadruple Room”, and it said so on the paperwork we signed. We were informed prior to our stay that this room had a private open air bath, but we were put into the wrong room type (the Family Room). I felt like I paid extra for an amenity that we didn’t receive, but the host only offered an apology for double booking the Quadruple Room. Additionally, if you don’t like bugs, do not stay here - there are bugs literally everywhere and I had ants and flies crawling over me in my sleep.

Summary: Spacious stay but many, many bugs inside the house.

Positive: Guest House Iwato (27/1/2025) We booked two rooms with futon beds, and the check-in process was smooth. Do note that towels are not provided for free (as listed in the description). The main building has shared bathrooms and a pantry with tea, coffee, and a microwave. The room was spacious, very clean, and had a lovely view, making it a comfortable stay. Free parking is available, but having a car is ideal. Otherwise, expect a bit of a walk from the bus stop, which can be inconvenient with heavy luggage. There’s a convenience store nearby, but it closes early. A bonus—free washing machine and a coin dryer for laundry.

Summary: Clean, spacious, and convenient—best for those with a car.

Positive: guest house is located a couple minutes outside town by foot, with an easy walk to the shrine. there is a co-op market within a couple minutes walk in the same direction. very good place to stay the night.
