Positive: Every single thing. Since the great pick up coordination, the welcoming, the private room, all the common areas, the games at night, the cave tour and all the amazing staff. And above all we appreciate the amazing Eddy who’s the best host we could have had. We decided to extend our stay just to be able to enjoy being at the hostel.

Positive: Great location close to the pools of Semuc Champey, Walking distance so you can be the first ones there! We sleep in the newest building which was very cozy, comfortable beds, very clean public bathrooms (every time I was there I met someone cleaning), great public areas to relax by the pool or in a hammock, we did the cave tour which was amazing!

Negative: More expensive than what we‘re used to in Guatemala when it comes to food in the restaurant and accommodation.

Positive: Location was fantastic, 10 minute walk from the park. The staff were super friendly (especially Basani) and the dogs really sweet. The food was good and in between activities it was nice to relax in the hammocks or the swimming pool.

Positive: Food was really good! Staff were great very accommodating. Great facilities, games and activities, plus lots of chill out areas!

Negative: There is no kitchen or fridge to leave food prepurchased in, which I found quite wasteful. While the food was really good in the kitchen, it didn’t have a lot of gluten free options so I was kind of limited.

Positive: The grounds were beautiful and the facility was clean, safe and fun. We were upgraded to the in unit sweet which had the most beautiful bathroom. The bed was firm and very comfortable and I slept like a baby with the sounds of nature quietly singing to me in the background. The facility was brand new and even though they are doing construction and expanding their facilities, they were accommodating and the construction was during the day when we were away exploring Semuc Champay nearby.

Negative: We stayed here 3 nights and I would have liked a little more creativity and options with their food menu. What they have is still tasty and good, but a pasta dish or some kind of seafood would have been welcomed.

Positive: I loved how luxurious the outside of the hostel felt with a beautiful pool and jacuzzi and loads of hammocks and greenery everywhere. The staff were friendly and funny and helped when we needed it. It was so close to Semuc champey and they provided transport to and from Lanquin on arrive and exit. They had so many animals!

Negative: The bathrooms were the main let down of this hostel with them being outdoors bathrooms with rarely any hot water. Because the outside looks so luxurious these bathrooms were definitely a let down. In addition many of the shower window curtains weren’t big enough to cover the whole window so it didn’t feel like you had privacy. This hostel didn’t allow any outside food which was disappointing as their menu has limited options and it feels like a way for them to squeeze money out of you. The beds didn’t have curtains! They should definitely add this as that makes a huge difference with privacy! Other than going to Semuc Champey, there wasn’t much else in the area to do so I would not recommend staying longer than 3 nights.
