‘Casa Pura Vida’ sits at the corner of a 200-acre farm known as ‘Finca La Piedra’. Comfortably nestled in the cool and quiet hills of a small town called San Ramon Norte, Finca La Piedra sits at 4000 ft elevation. Experience authentic “small town” Costa Rica in this beautiful setting. Relax on a hammock while enjoying the sunset, or let the Finca La Piedra staff guide you on a horseback ride to a beautiful private waterfall. Finca La Piedra is a working coffee farm, and the staff is always available to assist guests with day trips, camping, hiking, coffee tours, horseback rides, transportation, or whatever else our guests may want or need to make their stay as enjoyable as possible. We take pride in sharing our connection with the local community and our knowledge of this beautiful country.

The main house has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom. The guest room has 2 single beds and a detached bathroom. The kitchen and living space are very open, and a ceramic tile deck surrounds the entire house. There is a salad/herb garden and pull-up/dip bars for exercise.

The bungalow sits above its own bathroom and has a full bed.

We do ask that any potential visitors who have an interest in participating in activities on the farm (horseback riding, hiking, camping, etc) inquire as to the availability of these services before their stay. Summary: We spent three nights enjoying the area. Brian was totally responsive and also guided us w his farm manager Emilio on a horse back ride around the farm which was beautiful. He was able to tell us the history of the valley and about domed the wildlife we saw. Days were sunny, evenings overcast and we had lovely cool nights. We saw hawks hummingbirds and toucans from the veranda, and a thrush nesting in the rafters outside. I’d stay a month if I could. The house was clean, has a new sectional sofa and “lazy boy” style chairs, memory foam pillows and soft clean mattresses. The carriage house was rustic and delivered great sleeps.

Summary: Our host said that if climate is an elevator, this would be the floor to stop on. Exactly right. San Isidro del General is but a 20 minute ride away, but the temperature change is surprising. We had doors and windows open every daylight moment and never wished for more than a sweatshirt in the early mornings. The house itself is spectacular with soaring ceiling, open rooms and 360 covered outdoor space. Comfortable bed and seating - check. Great wifi - check. Security AND privacy - check. Definitely check this out. You will want to stop at this floor.
