Positive: Absolutely lovely place. The design is beautiful and very stylish, and staying here feels a little like stepping into a slice of Sri Lankan history. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, and the owner Gaya was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. A special mention has to go to the dog, who was absolutely lovely! We miss our own pets whenever we travel, so having such a sweet dog around made the stay feel even more special and a little more like home. A beautiful, characterful place with wonderful people. We really enjoyed our stay.

Positive: The hotel is beautiful. They have clearly taken a lot of time to make a very special relaxing place. The room was stunning, we felt like we were staying in a very expensive and exclusive hotel, lots of little extras in the room to make you feel comfortable. The staff were so welcoming and made us feel right at home - they could not do enough for us! We were greeted by their beautiful kitty and dog Hazel. The breakfast was delicious, very fresh and plenty of choice. The communal areas are really relaxing, books and games and even a pool table, perfect for an evening of unwinding after a busy day in the city.

Positive: OMG, I could list so many things I loved about this stay. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at ease—like we were being welcomed by family. There’s also the most gorgeous pup and cutest kitten on the property, which just made it feel even more like home. We were greeted with two king coconuts and had our bags taken up to our room. The host then recommended dinner for us—a traditional Sri Lankan curry spread—with a live musician setting the vibe. It was such a special experience. The next morning, we spent some time playing pool in the main hangout area, had a swim in their beautiful pool, and enjoyed a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast before heading off. The vibes here are immaculate—there’s always soft background music, and the staff are incredibly attentive. I’m so sad we only booked one night. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone—whether you’re travelling solo or in a group. They truly make you feel at home. Thank you so much ❤️

Positive: This is a beautiful hotel that’s been very thoughtfully designed, with a lovely pool and really nice rooms and common area. The owner and team are friendly and helpful - proactively messaging on WhatsApp to sort out finer details and check you have what you need - and the dog is very cute!
Negative: The prices of the food and drink are really high for the quality ($10 for breakfast rather than $4 in similar accom / restaurants; $14ish for rice and curry compared to $5ish elsewhere), and the meals / drinks aren’t very tasty, especially for the price. It’s also pretty far away from anything, which means you’re a bit limited for food and drinks unless you go into Kandy (about 45 minutes away).

Positive: We loved staying with Gaja and meeting her gorgeous dog Hazel. The property is so beautiful - just like we had stepped into a home beautiful magazine! Everyone made us feel at home. Our rooms were amazing and beautifully appointed and comfy. The pool and garden are really lovely and all meals were delicious. The hotel is a 20-30 minute tuk tuk ride to the city centre but it was lovely to escape the hustle and bustle at the end of the day and relax. We didn’t want to leave this tranquil and relaxing oasis in busy Kandy.
