Positive: Every decision and feature of Gamrie Beach Bothy has been made with guest's comfort and happiness in mind. The hot tub, balcony and bothy have beautiful views of the harbour and headlands. You feel secluded in the space, with fencing making you feel apart from the surrounding buildings. All of the appliances, utensils, fittings and furnishings are well maintained and of high quality. The bedding has a luxurious feel to it and the couch is comfortable with a perfect view of the sunset. The hot tub is a defining feature of the bothy. It is a wood burning stove hot tub with jets and lights. The water is fresh for each guest and chlorine is used to keep the water clean during your stay. A steady supply of kiln dried wood keeps the hot tub warm and clear instructions are given on how to cool it down, if needed. Everyone in Gardenstown (Gamrie), from the people walking their dogs to the local Wee Shoppie owner, have made us feel welcome. gamrie is truly a hidden gem with lots of welcoming residents. There are gorgeous walks and vistas within a 40 minutes and lots of wildlife to keep you entertained. During our stay we saw dunnocks, gannets, swallows and herring gulls. The hosts of the bothy are keen to make you feel at home and ensure you have a wonderful experience of the surrounding area. We were made well aware of all the walks and local landmarks and where we could find food and entertainment. The hot tub was warm and ready to get into upon arrival, which was amazing after a long day of work. Our favourite part of the whole stay was the peace and quiet. Sitting in the hot tub, with the jets turned off, you could hear the gentle waves of each beach, on either side, clearly. We are keen to come back and enjoy the peace and quiet of a stay at Gamrie Beach Bothy. A peaceful retreat in a gorgeous part of Aberdeenshire.

Positive: Absolutely beautiful bothy with stunning views over the water. Jim and Amanda provided everything we needed from dressing gowns and towels for the amazing wood fired hottub (logs and lighter provided) overlooking the water. Bottle of prosecco on arrival with crisps and chocolate. Bed made up, bothy spotlessly clean! Hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner and bodywash provided. Plenty communication to check everything was going ok 👍 all in one bedroom/kitchen/microwave with separate ensuite toilet and electric shower. Quite a few steps up to bothy from roadside parking, which I hadn't appreciated, my fault for not realising this beforehand. Highly recommend. Food wise, staff were lovely at local few mins walk to Garden Arms hotel, but food was mediocre, I ordered surf and turf basket which had 3 tiny slivers of overdone beef, but scampi and especially haddock goujons were lovely. Served in a plastic red tray that would be better suited to a toddlers birthday party. Had an amazing meal at the Kastille in Turiff and really attentive, lovely staff. This was the only place open for meals on a Monday around 2.30 in the area and thank goodness we found it! We had an amazing time and recommend this place! Thank you Jim and Amanda xx

Positive: Had an amazing stay at this bothy , it was the perfect escape from the stress of life. It was cosy, clean and well equipped. The jacuzzi was fabulous. The town is peaceful, simplistic and friendly. Highly recommend for anyone needing a peaceful retreat.

Negative: To get to the bothy there are a decent amount of steps, a bit of a climb with the bags, but was not an issue for us, and its incredible sea view made it all worth it!
