Positive: Housekeeping. Front desk, especially Bob, but they know that, breakfast served, those were things that shined.

Negative: Valet were lazy, but one was great. Breakfast choices and quality have diminished over the years.

Positive: Location was excellent. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The young ladies at the front desk were outstanding ! Breakfast was good. Linda was extremely friendly and her personality added a nice touch to our stay. The staff that we experienced were wonderful.

Negative: Our room wasn’t as clean as it should have been. For an establishment like that and the room rate charged, I expected the room to be extremely clean. . Lamp shade had spatters of some substance on them, the bathroom floor was sticky on one side and one of the beds in our double queen room looked like the sheets had not been changed from a previous guest. We had to request for these things to be corrected. Carmen at the front desk did an outstanding job at handling the situation. The floor in the elevator was dirty from the time we got there to the time we left.

Summary: There are better options in downtown Charleston for similar rates.

Positive: Great location, beautifully furnished and decorated, and everything looks absolutely impeccable.

Negative: The description on Booking.com as “Exceptional breakfast” is misleading. They only serve a very basic European continental breakfast with poor variety. And the quality of the eggs speaks for itself, see picture below.

Positive: The French Quarter Inn was a great spot close to the Market. It was an easy walk to explore the Market, the Waterfront park, dining and shopping. The Inn itself was lovely and light filled. The room was spacious and clean. I absolutely loved the Pillow Menu! My husband and I like different types of pillows and we both got exactly what we needed. Every member of the staff we encountered was friendly and helpful. We really appreciated that a variety of cold (and hot) drinks were available in the lobby at all times during our stay. In fact, the food here went beyond what I had imagined. The breakfast included cold and hot choices, yogurt and eggs to meats, cheeses and pastries. And lots of fresh fruit. It was all fresh and delicious. The wine & cheese hour was the nicest surprise ... I knew there was one, and I have enjoyed this amenity at inns before ... but at the French Quarter, there were actually several choices of wine (including Prosecco) and quite a spread of cheeses, meats, nuts and other accoutrements. We took ours out to one of the sundecks upstairs. Cookies and milk in the evening was another treat. Oh, and the candy bar! That was another fun surprise. My husband enjoyed the fitness room during our stay. There are also bikes to borrow, but we did not take that opportunity. Overall, a really wonderful stay. I would come back here in a heartbeat.

Positive: From the moment we arrived the staff were very friendly. The inn has an old-fashioned feel, but the facilities are modern and the bedroom was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, and we really enjoyed the opportunity to sit outside for it. We also enjoyed the nice touch of free wine and port receptions that enhanced the feel on being at an inn. Location could not be better being right in the heart of old Charleston.

Negative: Limited parking and parking is a bit of a hassle around Charleston.

Summary: Wonderful stay in the perfect location, a great and friendly staff.
