Summary: Lovely apartment in the quieter location of Telde. Away from all the touristy hotspots. Beautiful sea views, You can hear the waves against shore on an evening. SPAR supermarket close by as well as other local ameneties.A fantastic base to explore the island. Highly recommended.

Summary: We stayed in this apartment for 9 days during June, the start was a very warm welcome by Luis who was waiting for us there and even helped carrying our suitcases, and told us about the area and good restaurants there which we found was great, he has been very helpful to us all the stay. The apartment itself was wonderful looking directly on the Atlantic which made us have a very pleasant stay sleeping on ocean sound. Very clean and well equipped with everything you might need. Area is quite and cheaper than other touristic areas. All in all it was one of our best vacations. Thank you very much Susana and Luis.

Summary: The apartment overlooked the ocean and was right next to some lovely restaurants by the beach. We enjoyed the sound of the waves from the apartment! It was in close proximity to some small supermarkets, a good pizzeria, and a pharmacy. Luis was extremely considerate and generous with his time, working around our flight times and also giving us a day's tour of the south of the island, which is harder to get to without a car. A really wonderful stay - we are so glad we chose this apartment.

Summary: We only had 3 days at La Garita and Gran Canaria was our third Canary Island. After the very tourist oriented Tenerife, this was a welcome respite. Luis met us in front of the apartment building and even saved us a parking spot! He toured us around the well furnished and stocked apartment and even had a tray of fruit picked from his own garden (the oranges were incredible). Nice touch! Communication was made easy by using the smart phone app "WhatsApp". Susana had a group chat going between herself, Luis and us, which made things easy. We arrived on a Sunday and most stores were closed. This is not a big tourist area but we did find a small Chinese take out at 27 Calle Estefanota that had a pretty good chicken dinner for two. We even had a second meal the next night by adding some shrimp to the leftovers! The is a well stocked Spar Market about 3 blocks away. The apartment has a great view of the ocean and coastal walkway. It's only a couple of minutes walk to La Garita beach and the walkway continues on to several other beaches. There is a spout/blowhole on the other side of La Garita beach that can be seen from the balcony. The pool area was closed and looked like not much work was going on when we were there. We watched people fishing off of the rocks every day, didn't seem to be catching a lot though. It's about a 30 minute walk along the (mostly) coastal walkway to Melenara beach which has a few more restaurants and amenities for tourists. The walkway pretty much ends at La Garita, there are a couple of other beaches in the other direction but you have to walk along the streets and they are a bit difficult to get to. If you are not looking for your typical tourist area with all its trappings, this is an excellent choice.
