Summary: What a terrific spot! My husband and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon and could not have asked for a better place to stay. The house is lovely and very clean. The view cannot be beat, and the location was perfect. There is a nearby natural swimming pool, lots of great restaurants in the area, and plenty of great hiking trails. Finally, the hosts are absolutely wonderful. They went out of their way to welcome us and make the stay extra special. We are so grateful that we got to stay at Refugio. We will definitely recommend to our friends, and we hope to return someday ourselves. Thank you so much!

Summary: Just perfect ! The little house for two is very clean and nicely furnished with all you need (even more!), the bed allows a good sleep. The view on the village and the ocean is amazing. You can relax in the garden, listen to the birds, look at the stars... It is a quiet and peaceful place in the nature where we loved to stay. Due to its situation, it is highly recommanded to have a car. The owner and his wife are exceptionnel : After a lovely welcome with flowers and some goods, they were always available and very helpful in any request, even concerning surroundings (tips for excursions on Pico Island, restaurants etc). Thank you for all, Tobias & Silke ! When we will come back to the Açores (because we want to come back !), we'll contact you to stay again in your place on Pico Island !

Summary: We spent four days on Pico while on our honeymoon, and we were so impressed with the level of service we received at Refugio do Pico. Silke and Tobias really made sure we had a special honeymoon experience. They were so friendly, left us personalized notes, and helped us with services such as renting a car and making sure we were at the airport on time when we left. The cottage was stayed in was very new and clean, and private. The kitchen was well-equipped and we cooked some dinners during our stay. We were happy to have the use of a TV while we were there, too. The view from the window was beautiful! One note to travellers is that the property is at the top of a very steep heel, so if you are driving a rental car, make sure you are comfortable driving up a hill using a standard transmission. If we return to Pico, we will definitely stay at Refugio do Pico again!

Summary: I stayed at Refugio do Pico for 3 nights and found a really cozy apartment! The kitchen is well equipped with everything you may need: if you need a coffee there's a coffee machine and if you love coffee there's a mocha machine too! The apartment is clean and well furnished, large enaugh for a couple. Tobias and Silke are two lovely persons! They gave advice about whale watching and some places where to have lunch and take care of us with little presents. The landscape is amazing, you see the little town of Prainha from the little terrace of the house and all the coast around there. Not far from Prainha there's the Parque Forestal where you can walk in the nature and on the opposite side there's the mountain with a chain of lakes. It's easy also to go to Madalena that is the beautiful and greatest town in the Pico island. Out of Madalena there's a way to go to the amazing Pico mountain. A very relaxing place to stay and a very good accomodation to turn around Pico island.
