Positive: The location was amazing, quiet & the water running by the house was extremely therapeutic. The facilities were great & the house seemed to be fully stocked with all the necessities.

Negative: Everything was great, the only thing I think I needed was an air dryer for clothing, this would be a brilliant add on for jumpers and such.

Negative: - I got 14 automated emails from Esk View Cottage before our arrival - felt kind of stalkish - Couldn't get in touch with anyone personally beforehand to get the one question answered I actually had regarding our stay. The (AI?!) answer I got turned out to be wrong. - Couldn't open windows in the bedroom facing the river without risking having hundreds of fly larvae in the room. A fly screen for those windows would be a great addition. - Washing machine did not clean clothes properly - that's a shame because we chose this cottage specifically because it offered a washing machine... - No clothes horse available - No laundry basket available

Positive: Great location for the moors, NYMR - great lying in bed watching a train pass by., Whitby etc. Excellent food at the local pub and village store was convenient for the little bits and a newspaper. Cottage had all you need though parking was tight but managed to park outside with the car well tucked in. Wi-fi good.

Negative: The only real difficulty for some folk could be the parking though we managed ok.

Summary: Suited us well.

Positive: Beautiful location overlooking the Murk Esk, and having the steam train go past so close was lovely. Beautiful walks on your doorstep and more by car. Well stocked shop so close is great too, and the Crossing Club pub literally behind the cottage. Small rooms but surprisingly good storage.

Negative: Nothing really - would maybe have liked a small table and 2 chair set on the balcony - the wooden box got wet in the rain and couldn't seat 2 anyway. A bin in the bedroom would be good too. Bigger TV would be good - we both struggled to see it and had to move the unit nearer the settee.
