Positive: Kate went above and beyond as a host, even towing our car up the hill when we kept skidding on ice after a bad snowstorm. She also then went to a supermarket and got us food bits. The cottage itself is gorgeous, with a view out over the moors and deer, roosters and friendly dogs to greet in the morning! Kate has thought of everything in the cottage - tea and coffee, fresh local milk and ale, and cooking supplies - and there are puzzles and games too. Great location for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors. Had a brilliant time and hope to return again x

Positive: This is a really well organised and well presented cottage. Very pleasant and well laid-out interior, with comrpehensive provision of basically everything you could need during a stay. If you're looking for a rural location, especially if you want to be near the steam railway or Whitby, it's ideal. Lovely views out over the Moors. I had a lovely stay and regretted not booking a few more nights.

Negative: I found the directions for parking, unloading and collecting the keys a bit confusing, though I figured it out. The diagram in the cottage made the parking arrangements clear once I got there.

Summary: Beautifully presented cottage in a tremendous, scenic location.

Positive: Splendid location for driving and walking around, the cottage is attached to the last farm before the fields and moors. The Esk valley is secluded enough, with lovely villages along. All convenient shops close by and the pleasures of Whitby a 20 mn drive. The cottage is very well equipped and carefully maintained, and a kind welcome package awaits you.

Negative: We enjoyed it the way it is, but be clear that this is a working farm, as said in the ad. You will hardly see our young hosts who work hard. The remarquable view on the valley is from the comfortable downstairs bedroom.
