Positive: The Cunene river between Namibia and Angola is an awesome river and has loads of natural beauty all along it, coupled to great birdlife. What hits you first at Epupa is the noise, the noise of water cascading over the falls, an ever present din that makes the concept of white noise redundant, but also ensures a deep sleep! The rooms are all double story with room for your vehicle below - this aids in great views over the river and highlights the spray from the falls themselves - in our case, right outside our room! Viewed from the lodge, the falls are not that impressive, the river simply disappears into a crevice - but take a walk a few minutes downstream and you see the falls in all their splendour, simply magnificent. The rooms essentially have flaps which you fold down, creating an open vista onto the river and falls, the best wide-screen entertainment you could ever hope to have. Very comfortable with everything needed. The food is cooked onsite by the chef, one of a small but excellent staff, always happy to help with whatever they can. We elected to go on a guided birding walk and John, the guide, proved most knowledgeable not just about the local birdlife, but also the flora, local natural medicines and the traditions of the local Himba people. Certainly worth at least one return visit.
Negative: Only small improvement would be to install external plug sockets in the car ports - there is already electricity, so an easy (and cheap) improvement for those with vehicles with in-vehicle fridge/frrezers.
Summary: A must-visit option!

Positive: The falls outstanding, the staff magnificent, the pool setting.
Negative: The food was below average (not breakfast!), I refer specifically to the steak at both nights - tough! The all the confusion on what i need to pay, Booking.com etc. The shower heads, you can hardly shower. The chalets need attention.
Summary: Enjoyable stay but I do not think the chalet's pricing justify the price. The camping better.
