Positive: There was loads of wildlife around the chalet. In the morning could you hear the gibbons and hornbills calling out while enjoying a peaceful breakfast. The bed was very comfortable.

Negative: The road towards the chalet is steep and unpaved, so be careful when walking or driving up and down. The chalet could do with a refreshment.

Positive: It was a quaint place in the countryside, only about a 10 minute walk from the village of Kuala Tahan, gateway to the Taman Negara national park. Unfortunately, my visit coincided with floods in the area. Amizah advised when I checked in that I might not be able to stay for the 4 nights booked, or I might be stranded there for a further week, so she told me to pay on departure for the number of nights stayed (not all accommodation owners were this flexible). There was a flask of hot water in my room on arrival - refillable on request - and sachets containing coffee bags. I was also given a lit mosquito coil for my room each evening to get rid of any mozzies. I had a yummy breakfast one morning, at a very good price. Hopefully I can return one day to do all the things I wasn’t able to do this time because of the floods.

Negative: Nothing.

Summary: A great place to stay with a very welcoming and helpful host
