Positive: Modern vibes, quiet and clean in a safe walkable part of Hyde Park. BUS Line went into downtown within 20 minutes. Shared living room and kitchen.

Positive: The apartment was overall good. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything needed for cooking, which was very convenient. Also, the location was great – public transportation was within walking distance, making it easy to get to the city center.

Negative: Overall, the apartment was good, but there were a few important issues that caused inconvenience. The shared bathroom, which was used by multiple rooms, had no soap, towels, or any toiletries. Toilet paper ran out very quickly, and it was never restocked for the rest of our stay, so we had to buy our own, along with soap. This was quite inconvenient. Additionally, when we checked in, there was only one towel instead of two. We found the second one crumpled and dirty in the closet. We immediately informed the staff, but it took almost two days for them to bring us a clean towel. As a result, we had to share one towel for nearly two days, which was uncomfortable. If these issues were addressed, the stay would have been much more pleasant.

Positive: I stayed here to be close to the University of Chicago Folk Festival, at a rate cheaper than local hotels with $35-45 a night parking fees. At first I was going to stay for one night, yet with Chicago weather forecasting a terrible & unsafe storm & snow, I decided to stay over two nights, & it turned out to be half what I would’ve spent at a hotel, & I was able to find on street parking both nights. The room & bed were comfortable with an interesting & cool hanging lamp next to the dresser. They also have push button security codes for the front & side doors, hallway doors on each floor, & each room has a separate code. The information was emailed to me early in the morning on my first day.

Negative: I was supposed to have a private bathroom in my room, but somehow I didn’t, yet at least it was in the hallway right next to my room. I was VERY SURPRISED & unhappy to find out that there are no wastebaskets in my room & the bathroom‼️There is a wastebasket in the kitchen only, not even in the living room area. There is WiFi but it was terrible, stopping every 5-10 minutes or so, & a couple of times I tried to reconnect to it, & it didn’t show up in my WiFi list. There was no contact information for Lucas, except a long confusing link from booking.com, & I had no information about where the free parking was located. Luckily I did find on street parking both nights. It was somewhat hard to get to sleep because there is a loud chirping sound every five minutes or so down the hall, & loud noisy heat or AC starting up many times during the day & night.

Summary: I had an interesting experience both good & bad, yet I saved $ & was close to my event & restaurants

Positive: Super pretty decor and sleek furniture gave the place a fresh vibe ! I walked to the University of Chicago where my conference was, felt safe and was closeby.

Negative: Its not a full service hotel, its like a private apartment building for rent
