This gorgeous detached cottage on the edge of the pretty Cotswold market town of Fairford, a short stroll to a selection of pubs and the market square for restaurants, shops and Lynwood’s, the best barista in the Cotswolds! The town and surrounding area is crisscrossed with many footpaths, to enjoy lovely walks in the Cotswold countryside and to explore the nearby Cotswold water park lakes. The nearby villages of Eastleach, Bibury, Hatherop, Quenington, Coln St.Aldwyns and a wealth of other beautiful Cotswold villages offering wonderful scenery and fantastic pubs and restaurants, all within a short walk, cycle or drive.
The town sits on a pretty stretch of the River Coln and is famous for its parish church of St Mary’s, which is perhaps the finest ‘wool church’ in the country – being the only church with a complete set of 28 medieval stained glass windows telling the story of the Bible.
Every Wednesday the market square is busy with a traditional market, and a continental market twice a year and a magical Christmas market on the first Friday of December.
For three days every year RAF Fairford hosts the world’s largest military air show – the Royal International Air Tattoo – book early as tickets sell out quickly.

Summary: Wood cottage is a lovely cosy cottage. It was spotlessly clean. It was a great home from home had everything we needed. Little extras like wine, Easter eggs, teabags, sugar and coffee were much appreciated. Would certainly recommend a great base for exploring.

Summary: Cottage was warm and cosy, tastefully decorated with high quality fixtures and fittings. Kitchen pretty well equipped but frying pans need replacing and the plates were too big for the dishwasher. Doorway to kitchen quite low if you are over 5ft10 might be an issue. There is a fold up table to eat food from but nowhere convenient to open it up and put the chairs without them being in the way. Off road parking would have been nice but the enclosed garden was good for the dog.

Summary: This is a very attractive little cottage with everything you need for a holiday stay in the market town of Fairford. Small kitchen but very usable, great living room with wood burning stove (central heating as well) and a very nice bedroom and bathroom with a large shower cubicle. Car parking on the road right outside the garden gate. Fairford is a very nice friendly town with 5 dog friendly pubs, our favorite 2 minutes from this cottage.

Summary: Super cosy little cottage. Perfect for two people and a (not huge) dog. Brilliantly located, minutes walk from a number of pubs and shops in town but on a really quiet road. Everything has been thought of; pre-made fireplace, instructions to do it yourself, shoe dryer, soft blankets, games and puzzles for the inside days, guides for walks, pubs, food etc on days out. Loved it.

Summary: I was disappointed at the cleanliness. It seemed as just the bare minimum was cleaned. There is quite a bit of mold in every window and in the bathroom. The bathroom had cobwebs and multiple spiders. the shower and sink had pink mold as if it hasn't been cleaned in awhile. The baseboards and around furniture had thick dust built up. The house was cute and quaint but I won't be staying there again. Also if you are on the taller side be aware that the doorways and the ceiling as you come down the stairs are very low. My husband had to duck.

Summary: We (from the Netherlands) had a lovely stay in Wood Cottage in the beginning of November. We stayed in a lot of houses in Devon and Cornwall so we know what we like and Woodcottage was certainly one of them. We got a small dog and the enclosed garden was safe place. The kitchen was good equipped maybe some more cutlery and plates to fill the dishwasher more efficiently. The whole stay was enjoyable thank you.

Summary: A beautiful cottage, from the moment we walked through the front door, we felt right at home. It was warm and inviting. Everything to make life comfortable was available. It was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Sue & Guy had even placed, tea, coffee and wine, for us to enjoy, which was a really lovely gesture. A washing machine, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, all for our use. A gorgeous shower, really comfortable bed. A lovely home from home touch. Would definitely recommend it to our friends and would definitely return.
