Summary: This is really homely villa with lovely large gardens and pool. We really liked the fact that you're not hemmed in or overlooked by anyone. The pool looks out over countryside which makes it feel really open. There are three bedrooms (FYI - access to one bedroom is via another) and all are comfortable. The bedrooms have air conditioning - the main lounge doesn't but with the fan on it remains cool. The BBQ area is great and we used that all the time. It's real outdoor living. It was also lovely looking after the resident cats. Communications with the owner and the local property manager was great - they were both very responsive. If you want a quiet, homely villa with a great pool and outdoor living - this place should be on your list.

Summary: We had an excellent holiday in the Algarve staying at this property. Owner Karl-Heinze provided us with all the information required to ensure a smooth and effortless check-in. Property manager Jessica guided us into the property and was available to sort out any issues very quickly and efficiently. The Villa is well maintained and has all the amenities including wifi to ensure a comfortable stay. The cats Adi and Stocksel kept the children entertained. A bottle of wine with crisps on arrival was very thoughtful. We were very happy with our stay and holiday - would certainly recommend to other travellers .

Summary: Lovely villa had added bonus of feeding a kitten, toaster was temperamental and TV has no English channels that was frustrating on occasions. But had a pleasant stay regardless

Summary: We were so excited to stay at this beautiful home but we had some difficulties. The first issue came after we booked this property through VRBO the owner sent us a separate contract stating we owed an additional large sum of cash for a cleaning fee. I'm fine with paying a cleaning fee if I know about it in advance of booking and can plan it into the budget. We went ahead with the reservation anyways and paid the extra fee when we arrived. The house was as pretty as it looks in pictures but is a good 10 to 15 min drive from beaches and from town which didn't bother us too much as we were looking forward to relaxing at the property. My husband planned on getting some work done while we were there but the internet is so slow it was completely unusable. We couldn't even use it to research restaurants or things to do in the area it was sooooo slow. And our last issue was Mosquitos. They were miserable. We couldn't even go outside in the morning or evening to eat on the patio. We couldn't even open the windows to let any breeze in. Basically we were trapped inside and even then we all got eaten alive. We couldn't wait to leave. The first night my 10 year old son got over 150 bites. We had to take him to the doctor to get creams. When we showed the property manager he tried to tell us that he had chicken pox. Not sure what the owner can do about the bugs but just wanted to make other travelers aware as I would never stay here again.

Summary: We had an amazing 11 days in this beautiful house in Portugal. It felt like a home away from home, we had everything we could require. The hosts are very thoughtful going the extra mile by supplying home comforts such as blankets on the couches for the cooler evenings with our stay in January. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, great bathroom facilities to name only a few. We also received a lovely bottle of wine on our arrival. We will surely be back for another visit.

Summary: We stayed (family of four) for two weeks in August. The villa and its grounds are superb with plenty of space for all of us. Our boys loved the pool and there was plenty of room to soak up the sun (it was very hot - mid 30's) without being overlooked by any neighbours. The villa is a short drive from the many beautiful beaches in the area and getting to the super markets and local markets is easy too - you will need a car. The bedrooms were all excellent with air con (thankfully :-)) and the kitchen / cooking facilities (including the bbq) were perfect. Karl-Heinz is a perfect host and answered any questions we had very quickly. All in all we had an amazing holiday and the villa was everything we were hoping for. As I said to Karl-Heinz, we will be back.

Summary: We stayed at this villa for the month of February 2018 and loved every minute of it. It is spacious, modern, comfortable and well appointed. Jessica and Ana were very attentive to us and Karl-Heinz was only an email message away and was always pleasant and helpful. He is a real gentleman. We felt very pampered. The experience was like being at home, only better. Porches Velho is well located close to amazing beaches, great shopping and yet offers the benefit of a peaceful countryside. If I were to recommend any one place to stay in the Algarve, this would be it. Thank you for making our first trip to the Algarve a memorable one.
