Positive: I expected a bed or 2 but we got 1BHK for just 3000/- during festive season which was cheap compared to other home stays. And the environment was so peaceful, we even saw peacocks roaming around freely which was amazing. Owner even offered us tea, coffee and milk in the morning. Clean bedsheets, clean washroom, in short everything was amazing!!

Positive: 🌟 Darpana Homestay – A Hidden Gem Near Udupi! 🌟 Just 7 km from the Udupi bus stop, Darpana Homestay is a peaceful retreat tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city 🚌🌳. Surrounded by lush greenery, coconut farms, and a few neighboring family homes, it offers a serene and homely atmosphere that instantly makes you feel relaxed 😌🍃. 🏡 The Stay Experience The homestay is located on the first floor of a lovely house, with a warm and welcoming family living downstairs who manage the place. They treated us like true guests, sharing local tips and making us feel completely at home 🤗💬. It's covers with CCTV camera for safety. Pricing was affordable when we visited, you can check with homestay owner about price as it may change as per season and no of people. Inside, the space is cozy yet well-arranged: * 1 bedroom with a double bed + single bed 🛏️ * 1 double bed in the hall 🛋️ * 1 clean and tidy washrooms 🚿 Perfect for 5 people, we were 2 couples and found it super comfortable. Though the space may seem small, it’s 100% clean, well-maintained, and enjoyable 🧼✨. We loved having our meals at the outdoor table with a stunning view, cool breeze, and peaceful surroundings 🌬️🌴. We brought food from outside and had a delightful dining experience.

Negative: 🦚 Nature’s Symphony One of the most magical parts of our stay was the constant sound of peacocks! We saw many around the property, and even had the joy of spotting one walking on the road nearby – a moment we’ll never forget 🦚📸. Along with peacocks, we saw sparrows, parrots, and other birds – all wild and free, adding to the natural charm 🐦🌈. 🌊 Beach Bliss Just Minutes Away Just a 5-minute walk or drive from the homestay is a hidden beach where a river meets the sea 🌊🌴. It’s a safe spot for kids (though caution is needed with sea waves), and the journey there through coconut trees is simply beautiful 🚶‍♂️🌾. 🛵 Getting Around We rented a local bike near the Udupi bus stop which was super helpful for exploring nearby places 🛵🗺️. 📍 Nearby Attractions 1. 🌊 River-Sea Meeting Point – Just behind the homestay (must visit!) 2. 🏖️ Malpe Beach – Less than 2 km away 3. 🌅 Kapu Lighthouse – Travel via Blue Whale Beach Road for scenic views (~20 km) 4. 🛕 Sri Krishna Temple – Around 8 km And many more hidden gems waiting to be explored! 💖 Final Thoughts Darpana Homestay was the highlight of our trip! From the peaceful environment to the kind hosts and the natural beauty all around, it’s a place we’ll always cherish and highly recommend to families and nature lovers 🌿🏡🌞.
