Positive: Our stay at Dale View cottage was wonderful. We travelled as a party of 4 from different regions and found the cottage to be just perfect. Spacious bedrooms that have been beautifully decorated. The soft furnishings, curtains and picture details were stunning. You can tell the cottage has been lovingly prepared for guests. The bathroom was a great size and fantastic to have both bath and shower options. Towels provided which was a fantastic addition. Both rooms had excellent storage and fantastic views of the surrounding area. The cottage is quaint, peaceful and everything you could want for a relaxing break away. Well situated with lots of local walking routes nearby. The kitchen is of a high standard with all modern essentials. Thank you for the milk in the fridge, a very kind gesture! The seating area is cosy and perfect for nights in cooking. The living room space is again spacious and has all essential items for a relaxing chill out. Netflix enabled TV a bonus! The patio doors look out to the lawn and again very zen. Very little passing traffic. Zero light pollution so dark, is dark. Which makes for an undisturbed sleep. A huge bonus for us was finding a home away from home that is dog friendly. Note, garden not enclosed but advertised on the listing and not an issue for us at all. Parking was ample for the two cottages side by side. And no noise from the neighbours, hard to believe we were attached to anyone. Would highly recommend and will look to return in the summer. Great to see the blacksmith workshops in action and keen to return as a family to take part in one.

Negative: I have not removed points for this as our stay really was fantastic, but just some minor suggestions for travellers. The road to get to the cottage is not even and requires some careful navigation, especially in the dark as there are no street lights. A minor suggestion for the hosts; the address for the cottage does not align on Google maps and so we did go on a bit of a goose chase to find you, perhaps marry this up to help future guests. Also having a specific sign to name to cottage at the road side would be really helpful, given the many named farm buildings in the area. We drove past a few times and in the dark became frustrating after a long drive.

Positive: Beautiful location. Access lane very rough, but nothing the owners could do about that. Owners very friendly and informative. We borrowed a sidetable lamp from the unused second bedroom, to soften the lighting in the living room during the evening. An excellent holiday, peacefully and relaxing, and close to picturesque towns and villages.

Negative: Access road very uneven, but a public road so the owners cannot do anything about that. Luckily we were not using the second bedroom, which was very hot, due to boiler in the cupboard.

Positive: The location was very secluded and peaceful. Sitting in the garden was really relaxing with great views and birdsong

Negative: The second bedroom had a boiler in it which made it incredibly hot and difficult to sleep in (the weather was very hot as well which meant no cool air through the window). No shower gel was provided, nor any salt or oil for cooking.

Summary: A nice weekend getaway for a family, would be even nicer in cooler weather

Positive: Beautiful, very comfortable cottage with everything we needed and gorgeous view from lounge, bedrooms and garden. Scenic location, superb for hiking, walking, exploring.

Negative: Second bedroom was rather too warm due to hot water cylinder. Needs a desk fan or pedestal fan. (Luckily we took one with us).

Summary: Wonderful. We didn't want to leave!

Positive: The property was stunning, great location and I loved the kitchen which was equipped for every possibility!

Negative: The full size hot water boiler in the smaller of the two bedrooms made the entire upstairs area very hot but the bedroom was uncomfortably hot.

Summary: Enjoyable but uncomfortably hot in the upstairs area.
