Summary: A truly evocative stay, in the heart of the Lakes & so convenient to both amazing walks and Ambleside. Iconically old fashioned, but everything is to an amazing standard. Breakfast is all fresh & local. It might be a great side if they offered (pre-booked) packed lunches?

Summary: Bedroom was slightly dated, breakfast was a bit stingy and breakfast timings weren’t especially flexible. It was a 1 hour window between 8:30 and 9:30 which I feel is quite late given the season and need to set off early to catch the sights and no options for grab and go breakfasts even when we asked. Bathroom was a stand out in terms of facilities and the location was amazing. A B&B needs to be successful in two areas, a bed and breakfast. This location was just so so on both. For the price asked I’d suggest pay a little more and get the better alternatives locally or pay a lot less and go further afield. This was a not great middle ground.

Summary: Fabulous location with lovely walks in many directions right from the doorstep. Nice room with great en-suite and lovely Bath House toiletries. Delicious breakfast with lots of choice and the hot selection was really well cooked. Friendly and efficient staff - would definitely recommend and stay again.
