The Old School House is a listed property situated in the heart of Hawkshead village, central for exploring all that the Lake District has to offer. Formerly home to William Wordsworth.
There is plenty to see and do both in Hawkshead itself and the surrounding areas. Within a short stroll from the house there are several pubs, cafes, shops & galleries.
If walking, hiking & biking are your thing then this is definitely the place for you. Grizedale Forest is a short walk away and electric bike hire is available in Hawkshead. Hundreds of walks from the door including Tarn Hows, Latterbarrow, Wray Castle, Lake Windermere, Coniston & Ambleside.
Beatrix Potters former home, Hilltop, is two miles away in the neighbouring village of Near Sawrey.
The house itself is perfect for large gatherings of family and friends with an abundance of space to entertain, dine and relax in beautiful peaceful surroundings with open fires and a log burner.
The porchway leads into a large entrance hall. To the left there is an attractive lounge with cosy woodburning stove, leather sofas, Smart TV, freeview & DVD. To the right is a grand dining room with a large oak table comfortably seating 10/12 people.
