Positive: Phil was extremely accommodating with the check in and check out. Thank goodness for the inside fireplace because without that, we would've had a different unpleasant experience because of the cold temperatures. Lovely views and wonderful setup at the country living. We brought our own Tv and extension leads so that we could watch a big screen tv at the fireplace. We noticed the Tv's were fixed to the wall and small - on the pics provided. The accommodation have Tv's but it's quite small relative to the room space. Watching Sport games on a 32 inch 8m away won't be fun -. With that being said - If we didn't bring our tv, we would've have been blessed with the facility provided :) Loved the outside braai area setup with an option to braai inside too. Kitchen was amazing and fully equipped with everything one needs. Appreciated the dishwasher :) Wonderful stay and we look forward to our next blessing atvthe country living.

Negative: We didnt like that we couldn't activate the house alarm during the evening, no stay mode, however we could activate the alarm when we were away during the day. Other than that - We didn't like the fact we onlly stayed for two nights :)

Positive: Spacious and private, the pool was lovely in the heat although it could have been cleaner. Wifi was good.

Negative: Lounge seating is uncomfortable and would be insufficient if we had a full house. Deep freeze broke while we were staying. House needs maintenance in general: Security gate was coming loose, as was a headboard. Alarm doesn't work properly. Several doors and windows don't open. Some basic things weren't in the house, e.g., a jug. Understanding that it's self catering, while there was fire wood (fab, thank you!) there were no matches.

Positive: The house is very spacious and has a great pool with a beautiful view over a dam. The kitchen has every appliance you can think of and appeared well equipped (even though we didn't cook there). The pool and the aircon in the one bedroom and fans in the other bedrooms were a blessing in the heat. The bedding is exquisite, the WiFi worked the house was clean and our host Phil was very friendly and helpful. The house is located at the edge of Riebeek Kasteel, a 2 min drive from the shops and restaurants.

Negative: The house has huge potential and would be so much more enjoyable if there were more comfortable seating options for more than two people in the two lounges, for dining, and around the pool and maybe some decor and furnishings to make it comfy. There is zero decor anywhere in the house giving it a stark and minimalistic appearance. Some people like this but to us it was uninviting, uncomfortable and cold, lacking character and atmosphere. It appeared to be just bought and filled with the most basic required furniture for renting it out. We left a day early as we ran out of things to do in the area and didn't feel like hanging out at the house.

Positive: View from the pool was great and it was close to town so one could walk around on foot.

Negative: Oven was broken, which we were only told on arrival and couldn't cook in it and it was Christmas eve, I was extremely disappointed and ruined our whole evening. The upstair bedrooms were shocking, security gate were shut, which i understand as it goes onto the roof, however there was no air flow as we couldn't open the doors.
