Positive: The location of the cottage was exceptional as it opened up whole of Dumfries and Galloway for hiking, kayaking, walking and other activities. One whole day we spent at Loch Doon on our kayak, followed by fish and chips at Castle Douglas and game of monopoly in front of the fire place! We were able to spend days out and come back to a cozy place with a fire place and out of this world facilities (great kitchen, super comfy beds, bookcase full of books etc). The owners go out of their way to make your stay a pleasant one; this shows in their whole approach to hosting. Whether you are looking for a base from where you can explore this part beautiful part of Scotland or a place to relax and read a book and contemplate; this is it!! This place is a perfect for families and also couples.

Negative: Not applicable as the host has made every effort to make our stay enjoyable and care free one!

Positive: The apartment was very charming! Beautifully decorated and had all the amenities we needed. Very cute, clean older home that has preserved the vintage charm but with all the modern needs . Black out curtains and a very comfortable bed made for a good nights sleep. Close for our visit to Mercer.
