Positive: Ellis was so kind and thoughtful, great communication before we arrived, and met us from the ferry to take us and our luggage to the room. Accommodation basic but clean. Beautiful surroundings and beach, and you can take a lovely walk to the next bay if you have the energy!

Negative: Nothing really, although it would be useful to have a small fridge in the room. It is very difficult to keep your water and coke cold in the humidity! But not a big problem as there are plenty of places open to buy cold drinks! Also, toilet paper for western visitors would be a nice touch. But again, you can just buy it in the village shop 🙂

Positive: I stayed for three nights. The room is very comfortable and quiet. I was picked up and dropped off at the jetty, which is only a 10-minute walk away. Kampung Genting is a small village with no cars. People walk, drive motorcycles or take water taxis to get around. There isn’t any nightlife so it’s a place to chill.

Summary: Highly recommended.

Positive: Very clean, bed comfortable, you can choose AC or fan. Hot water is really a plus.Restaurant just below the rooms is very convenient. Not far from the jetti and the owner came to pick up our bags. She was very helpful and organized a great boat trip with nice snorkeling experience.

Positive: Of all that I saw in Tioman’s west coast, Kampung Genting is the place to stay where you get to experience the local lifestyle. It’s a quaint little village with plenty of options and gorgeous scenery. The Coral Beach Loft and their warm and welcoming staff make you feel at home since it’s a family business. Noor makes the best Nasi Goreng in town and Ellis is the greatest host! They offer a pick-up/drop-off service from the Jetty should you need it, although it’s just a 5-10 min walk. The view and the hammocks are awesome and I believe it’s the best sunset spot. You can rent bikes and scooter. The room has great Air Conditioning as well as fan and the room felt spacious and well equipped. All in all the perfect place for a stay in the island of Tioman :) I will certainly be back!

Positive: First and foremost, Alice (who manages the rooms) is fantastic. She was very helpful and communicative throughout my stay. The room itself was outfitted with everything you might need: water boiler and coffee/tea, some reading material, hangers, soap/shampoo, good towels and a very comfortable bed. Not to forget: a beautiful view of the sea and sunset from the balcony. There’s an attached restaurant offering traditional food, as well as bikes/motorbikes and other equipment rental. The location is a short walk or motorbike ride from everything in Genting, and you can swim/snorkel right in front of the rooms. Highly recommended!

Positive: The most friendly family run guesthouse. Ellis was wonderful. She greeted us at the ferry port on arrival, her husband collected our bags by bike to take to the accommodation to save our backs 😆 comfortable room with good AC. Beautiful sea view. Ellis made sure we had the best stay ensuring us that no queries or questions were too much or silly. She kindly arranged a snorkelling trip around the island for us and we had the best day! Thank you, it was lovely to get to know you and your family for a short time ☺️

Negative: Nothing regarding the property. But be aware of the monkeys, they climb up onto the roofs and there are warning signs regarding leaving your belongings on the balconies.

Positive: Great stay on Tioman Island at our first stop. The room and bathroom were new and nicely furnished, located on the first floor of a charming wooden structure with a lovely sea view. Towels were finally large and new, and there were even hooks outside the door to hang swimsuits and towels to dry. The incredibly kind owner welcomed us at the jetty and helped carry our bags to the accommodation. Her mother, who runs a small eatery just below the room, kindly prepared vegan meals for us upon request. The price was excellent, especially for Tioman. Highly recommended!

Negative: Just a tip: avoid leaving food in the room, as it can attract ants
