Positive: This place was awesome! Super clean and cozy, with plenty of homey touches all around the flat to make it have such a great vibe. The green room especially feels like a place you could spend all day in, making it tough to choose from a nice day of reading and exploring from this fantastic central location. The kitchen was also a massive plus, as being able to cook our own food in London when we wanted to helped our budget go further. Ben was such a great host, providing very clear instructions and being very friendly with suggestions in the area. Couldn't recommend it more!

Negative: If I was nitpicking: not having AC in the summer is a bit of a bummer, but by no means unusual for the UK. Being a below ground flat really helped it stay at a quite reasonable temperature, but in a heatwave it could be uncomfortable. Having the windows open to cool things down did mean we occasionally heard people walking by. Not a big deal for us, but if you're sensitive to noise you may notice.

Negative: The landlord seems to be having issues with his phone, as he rarely responds and his phone is often switched off. It was quite challenging to get in touch with him. Otherwise, the phone itself appears to be working fine.

Positive: Very good location with lots of things to do within a short walk. Flat is well maintained and stocked for sort or long stays. Very fun decor!

Negative: Could use a way to darken the bedroom, the area is well lit so bring a mask. Just below ground level on a relatively busy walkway so the noise level could be high on a weekend...moderate on a Thursday night.

Positive: The apartment is in a basement, but the windows are quite large, so there is sufficient light. There is a separate living/dining room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. It is well decorated, with framed photos of Fleet St from the newspaper age. All the rooms are well equipped and the bedroom not only has a large, comfortable bed, but a decent sized desk with a powerful light (a rare feature, even in the most expensive hotels...) ideal for working.

Negative: There are no curtains, even in the bedroom, only venetian blinds, so early morning light woke me up. The single glazed window frames need attention; some windows do not close properly and voices from the alley are carried into the apartment.

Positive: Friendly and helpful host - responsive and keen to provide a good service. Little extras - toiletries, sweets, tea/coffee machine and well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, electric cooker, washing machine and full size fridge freezer - everything good quality, clean and new. Easy to access and private entrance. Right in the heart of the legal district with every amenity on your doorstep. Basement flat freshly refurbished with every convenience. Also plenty of interesting books, entertainments and historic artefacts and pictures about Fleet Street and the surrounding area. Decent TV with Netflix etc and comfortable sofa. Plenty of desk space and good WiFi. Super clean and bright bathroom with excellent bath/shower/hit water. Really loved this gem of a flat and it was great value for money too.

Negative: Not a negative but just a note of caution to go carefully on the steps down to the entrance (basement flat).

Summary: Perfect City safe haven with every convenience and comfort for an enjoyable stay whether for work or pleasure.
