Positive: Very nice staff, peaceful atmosphere, no children around. Beautiful grounds. The place is very green, calm, and one feels they can really rest there. The pool was quiet and relaxing. Meals were prepared with care and thought; they were nutritious and very tasty. Coffee was absolutely delicious. And the map room is beautiful.

Negative: I would like to have black tea and coffee in the room. I would also like to have a TV and plugs near the bed, but I understand that it is the vibe of the place to get away from technology and rest. I would also like more choice on the menu and to have desserts on the menu. Sweets are also important for wellbeing of some people.

Summary: Super relaxing weekend in a beautiful place.

Positive: We stayed at Combe Grove Health and Wellness for two nights to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday, and it honestly couldn’t have been more perfect. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, kind, and genuinely attentive — they made us feel completely at home. The food was absolutely delicious (we’re still talking about it), and the whole place has this peaceful, calming atmosphere that’s hard to put into words. The swimming pool was spotless and such a lovely spot to unwind — we spent ages there just relaxing. Everything about our stay felt thoughtful and high quality, without ever being over the top. It was exactly what we needed. We’re already planning to come back — next time for a longer stay!

Positive: Beautiful scenery, very peaceful. The main building and the dining room is impressive with far reaching views over the countryside. The breakfast was excellent and generous. The room was tastefully decorated and comfortable.

Negative: Poor signage on first arrival, bed was a little too hard. Very loud noise coming from above which sounded like water draining away from a bath. Housekeeping placed new linen in front of the room earlier in the morning in preparation for our checkout, which felt like we were being rushed. The floor staff cleared away our plates whilst I was still eating breakfast. Regardless of these things, we would definitely return.

Summary: A very peaceful retreat and excellent value for money.

Positive: I absolutely loved my stay at Combe Grove. It was a last minute booking and totally exceeded my expectations. Everything was perfect. The views are incredible. The room was so quiet, immaculate and comfortable. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly ( especially Rachel and Tony ). I booked that morning on a gorgeous sunny day and spent the day by the outdoor pool. I did yoga, pilates and swam over the Friday and Saturday. Even went for a 5 mile walk along the river with another solo guest ~ introduced by Rachel. The food was delicious and well presented ~ and even a goody bag of fresh veg from the garden to take home. And to top off, an incredible accoustic guitarist played on the lawn on Friday evening. I'll definitely be back!!

Negative: Nothing!! However, it is very quiet in the evening as it is a retreat / wellness hotel. It's definitely not a negative ~ I liked the fact that it was restful. It was just what I was looking for.

Summary: Exceeded my expectations. An absolute find. You'll want to return again and again ~ as I do :)
