Positive: One of the most perfect stays possible. We were able to check into our unbelievably beautiful bungalow when we arrived at 10am. Fresh flowers decorated everything adding to the beauty and natural feel. The small touches were not unnoticed - from the mini coral reef embedded in the floor to the hand painted art and driftwood sculptures to the hermit crabs that scuttled about in the bathroom. Everything was just WOW. Every inch of this beach getaway has been thoughtfully and lovingly designed. The food was also excellent, I cannot recommend the grilled squid with garlic enough. We were only due to stay one night and were so disappointed, but then a volcano erruption shut down the airport and we were "forced" to stay another day. We ended up being the only people at the whole resort, we couldn't help but be grateful what could have been a disaster turned out to be a blessing. Sunset on the beach was absolutely breathtaking. Even the "negative" parts others mentioned or uncontrollabe were charming. There are activities you can book but frankly we just sat around and ate and drank and enjoyed a much needed down day after a week of diving. 10 stars is not enough. Neither was 2 nights.

Negative: The things I didn't like had nothing to do with the resort but the way they were handled just made the experience better. There is a lot of trash that washes up on the beach but this is not the fault of the resort but of humans in general using too much single use plastic and poor waste management. But the resort had people out in the morning cleaning the beach and also combing the water with nets to remove the trash. They also leave woven baskets around for you to use to pick up trash yourself which we enjoyed doing several times. Their commitment to eco friendly practices is admirable. Maybe the only small improvement could be drainage in the shower. The standing area is nestled in the sand and surrounded by coral, but because it is lower than the surrounding sand it doesn't drain quickly so you may be standing in a puddle. We didn't mind but it could be remedied easily. Also the wifi was not great but we think this is an island wide issue and not the resort.

Summary: Do not miss this hidden gem, stay longer than you planned!

Positive: The hotel is a very nice resort ,i think is the best in Maumere area, in front of the sea, you can go everywhere barefoot, the room was nice, is missing a fridge .The breakfast was minimal and the food was ok,nothing special.

Negative: It was at my last day, my flight from Maumere to Bali was at 7 in the morning and at 20:00 in the night before to sleep i got a message in my phone that due to eruption of Lewotobi volcano my flight is cancelled for next morning!!My otions were 2 . Reschedule the flight which was not possible because my international flight from bali was next afternoon,or to take money back. When i went to the reception girls and insaid what happened, they told me…… ohh yes the airport is closed from yesterday and i said why you didnt tell me this, you know i am leaving tomorrow morning. No answer. So i had to take a taxi at 1 o clock in the morning drive for 530 hours to another airport Ende which was open. My new tickets from Ende airport to Bali costs me 964€ !!!!! For 2 persons and if these ladys had told me that the airport was closed 2 days before the price was 380€ !!!!. Thank you ladys !!!

Negative: They don’t provide blankets — only extremely thin bedsheets that offer little warmth during the coldest hours of the night (around 2–5 am). Believe it or not, beachfront properties in Indonesia can get quite chilly at night, especially when the wind picks up. I’ve lived in Indonesia for over 20 years, and this is the first time I’ve stayed somewhere that didn’t provide a proper blanket. A thin bedsheet isn’t one. After the first night, I asked for a real blanket. The staff said they would speak to the resort owner, but later came back saying they couldn’t accommodate the request. It’s hard to believe that in a room costing over Rp1 million per night, blankets aren’t standard. I eventually went into town and bought blankets for myself, my wife, and our 7-year-old son. So, my advice: bring your blanket if you plan to stay here. A few other points: The food could be much better. There is room for improvement in both quality and flavor. No complimentary coffee. A simple fix would be to offer a kettle and some coffee in the restaurant. Even the most budget-friendly hotels usually offer guests complimentary tea or coffee. Bathroom sand is impractical. While it might look nice, it’s not functional, especially with kids. Sand gets tracked into the room and ends up on the bed. The gym floor is just rocks. A concrete surface would be far more suitable and safe. I had other concerns too, but I’ve moved on. I'm now staying at another place nearby for half the price. It has a proper blanket and complimentary coffee — small things that make a big difference.

Summary: Beautiful spot, but lacking basic comforts.

Positive: This place can be a destination by itself... We stayed more than a week in one of the family cotages which was georgious, spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The outdoor bathroom is fantastic ... The staff was extremly friendly and helpfull. The food is amazing and the gym is quite useable. We can totally recommend this place.

Negative: From the reef is not much left but the remaining reef is beautiful.

Positive: Amazing attention to design, both in the bungalows / cottages and the terrain. Very serene place. Tasty and plenty of choice in food. Loved, loved, loved the outdoor bathroom with moonlight showers.

Negative: The location itself is not as special as the resort that was created. Lot's of plants and snakes in the water. Not so much corals. The equipment (SUP, kayak, snorkel gear, gym) looks a bit torn down, but is functional. The difference between bungalows and cottages is clear, but the difference between the various types of cottages not so much, except that some cottages are situated first in line towards the ocean (the second line still has sea view too).

Positive: Location is amazing and private. I stayed 3 nights only there and i didn’t get bored. Staff is very very kind , cottage was very nice and clean. Bed sheets were changed every day and the smell was incredible. Food was very good , fresh and with local ingredients.
