Positive: The location of this property is ideal as it is right in the centre. Although the cottage is small, it is perfect for a short break. On arrival, the cottage felt clean and warm.

Negative: Before arriving, I was spammed with a lot of emails. The emails were repeated and often overbearing with information. Additionally, the information given about "how to get to the cottage" was complex and could've been a lot simpler, an image of a map would help. Due to the complexities of the instructions we decided to park before arriving at the cottage, we paid for a long stay carpark, annoyingly when we arrived at the cottage there was a parking permit for us to use. Therefore we paid for parking and we didn't need to! The cottage itself was lovely. However, we did feel it was missing the basics. For example, it would be nice to have more than 1 toilet roll.

Positive: The location is excellent, not only is it in the middle of town, it is also just of the road and has a nice little garden with a table and chairs. Perfect little rest spot between the days hike which can be reached in no time.

Negative: The key lock box was a bit stiff. Lock for the bathroom was a bit fiddly. There were crumbs in the fridge.

Summary: Perfect for a solo traveller or even a couple.

Positive: It was lovely location. The cottage was very cosy. We couldn't understand why the other reviews that we so low. It is small but it well equipped, the never boiler made any noise, the bed was great (we did lots of walking so we slept very well but we think it was comfy). We didn't try to watch TV - it's not really a cottage for hanging out in (it's small) but why we hangout there in the Lake District! We cooked (the hobs worked - the back one is fast and front slow but I think that's the design). There were good instruction books. And we had lovely time.

Negative: We found the cottage a bit hard to find. Bad traffic meant to that we arrived at night and there isn't a sign for it on the road (it's hidden through a entrance way). Either put up a notice or tell the renter to go behind Graylings Cottage - that was a small panic but we foudn it. The side of shower could be cleaner (but we appreciate it's hard to reach there) - everything else was lovely and clean.

Positive: I didn't stay there. I didn't even go in. At the last moment a friend from Australia joined me. I was of coursd going to tell the owner. My friend had hired a big car and decided it was too far from parking even to unload the luggage, so we went elsewhere . I was disappointed because I thought it looked lovely. Nothing wrong with the cottage and I had to give non commital answers because I needed to get to explanations. I would rent again tomorrow but unfortunately I live in Sydney so it won't be possible. I was going to rely on public transport and that cottage is perfect for that.

Negative: Suggest a little map because we had a bit of difficulty finding it. Your robot review questions don't cover my problem.

Positive: No breakfast - self-catering. Location was brilliant.

Negative: No parking space. When the town gets full (and it does), it can be difficult to find somewhere to park. And I found the oven/microwave complicated to work, but then I'm old!

Positive: Cute cottage very clean, lots of facilities tucked away, nice sun trap outside, parking permit available for use, bed very comfy and shower superb

Negative: For one person it was an expensive stay but that’s only because husband couldn’t come in the end. A drying area would have been good - I’m never sure how much water laminate flooring can take and one day I came in soaked ( ended up putting clothes in bin bag til I could deal with them better)
