Summary: This is a lovely old property. We enjoyed drinks and a bite on the veranda at dusk, thoroughly appreciating the beautiful mountains/pikes peak. Valet parking is very reasonable and we were able to walk to all of the shops and attractions on the main street in town, which was very convenient.

Summary: I've been to the Manitou Springs many, many times over the years but never stayed in town. Wanting to try something different, I chose The Cliff House and reserved a Deluxe King Suite (#201). As you can see from the pics, it's a very historic hotel with lots of old-school charm that you don't get at the typical Marriott or Hilton. Overall, the stay was great and the property was well maintained. However the bathroom, particularly the shower, was a little dated but that may be expected at a property like this. The hotel bar was also a little underwhelming. If you go, sit outside on the patio! The location of the property makes it excellent for exploring almost all the Manitou has to offer. That said, there aren't a ton of amenities at the property. The concierge was also impossible to engage before the stay (I called 4-5 times, leaving messages with whomever answered and asking them for assistance but to no use). That said, Matt (valet) and the front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful once I arrived.

Summary: Cliff House is a very interesting older style of hotel which has been well renovated with modern comforts and facilities whilst retaining its traditional charm and interest. Our rooms were very comfortable, well presented and provided with all the creature comforts the modern traveller expects. We didn't use the hotel's formal dining room but did have a few drinks in the adjoining bar whuich stocked a decent range of drinks although it had a slightly more 'vibrant' atmosphere than we prefer. This was probably partly down to the preponderance of hard materials throughout the space which contributed to the elevated sound levels when the several tv's were all showing different channels. probaly a space more suited to the younger generation although the feel and presentation of the hotel seemd to be aimed at the more mature traveller. Be that as it may Cliff House is a charming and interesting hotel with the sort of character not often found in more contemporary establishments.

Summary: We always love staying here! It is beautiful and comfortable.
