Chiltern Lodge, located in NSW on the Mid North Coast, just minutes away from the beach and local community of Old Bar and surrounds. Get back to nature at Chiltern Lodge. 4 Cottages set on 11 hectares in the Knappinghat National Park. Chiltern cottages are well appointed, and fully self-contained with cozy log fires. Each cottage has 2 bedrooms and sleeps up to 6 people. Wheelchair friendly cottage (Jarrah) is also available. We offer a wide range of facilities for all ages. Enjoy a refreshing dip in our saltwater pool or relax among the bubbles in the heated spa. Our well-equipped recreation room has all you need for a few hours of relaxation or fun! From Billiards, table tennis or a movie in our cinema room. Stepping outside cook a BBQ or use the pizza oven and enjoy the open fireplace in our undercover seating area. Outdoor cubbyhouse, soccer goals, basketball hoop and volleyball net are also located on the grounds. Our farm animals and friendly possums love the company of guests too.

Positive: The Lodge provided a quiet, bush location, conveniently not far from the M1 Motorway. Also, only a few kilometers from dining and shopping options. Would consider for a retreat style stay.

Positive: Very well maintained. Peacefully surrounded by native bushlands with two open grass areas for the kids to play. Very clean bbq area adjacent to a decent sized pool. And no flies!

Negative: A few too many rules but I suppose that’s how the place is kept nice.

Summary: Peaceful forest lodge close to the beach with ample open grass areas to plays.

Positive: The facilities were exceptionally well-maintained, reflecting a high standard of care and attention to detail. The location was bit off road. The location was strategically and beautifully situated, offering a serene environment - one of the rare places where you can truly disconnect, as internet connectivity was minimal or non-existent. This intentional digital detox adds to the charm and uniqueness of the experience. The overarching theme and stay concept was thoughtfully created with an immersive atmosphere, close to nature. The stay also had inclusion of a recreation and media room, which provided a perfect balance between relaxation and entertainment.

Positive: Very clear and thorough instructions for finding and entry to the property. The cabin was very well equipped with clear labelling. The info booklet was great and very helpful. The staff was friendly and made sure that we knew they would help with anything we needed.

Negative: It was sad that the hot tub was out of commission but that was beyond the properties control. Also the bugs were INTENSE! but the property had plenty of bug spray on offer.

Positive: We loved the facilities that were on offer and the cabins and whole place, was very clean. It was a tranquil place where we could relax most of the time. We received a nice warm welcome which makes a big difference.

Negative: Felt like were cleaned up after constantly. We would use the games room at lunch and leave the windows open and the games table uncovered as we wanted to come back later, only to come back and find everything put away and windows closed up an hour later and it was only just after lunch. Felt micro-managed. The room was like an oven when it was all closed up on a hot day which made it feel uncomfortable to hang out in. The room should just be cleaned up at the end of the day, not every time someone uses it!

Summary: Lovely place, not overcrowded and quite clean and comfortable. Awesome pool!

Positive: Accommodation in stand alone 2 bedroom cabins which were immaculately clean and tidy. We had 2 cabins. Property was very well maintained. Onsite recreation room, pool and communal barbecue/eating area all lovely. Quiet, leafy setting but only 5 minutes drive from Old Bar shopping area and beach. Beds very comfy. Shower unit in our cabin was small but incorporated a small bath at base for a child. Our other cabin provided access for disabled and had a larger walk-in shower. We had a very nice dinner at the local club.

Negative: We stayed 1 night only to break our trip back to Sydney from the Gold Coast. It was summer (Xmas holidays) and unfortunately mosquitos were prevalent at this location. The manager warned us of this on our arrival and provided personal insect repellent in the rooms. This may not be an issue for some but was a little dampener for us. May not be a problem if visiting in cooler months.

Summary: Lovely accommodation in quite location. Slept well and awoke refreshed to continue our journey.

Positive: A beautiful cabin which is recently renovated and is very comfortable. So quiet and you will be waken by all kind of birdsong. As a bonus, there is a nice swimming pool. Close to Old Bar which is a nice little town.

Positive: Only a short drive into town and beach. Beautiful property, perfect for families/kids to explore. Cottages really comfy and very clean, everything you need is provided. Salt pool, heated spa, games room and awesome outdoor kitchen/BBQ area with everything you could possibly need available to use. All the little details for your comfort and convenience has been thought of. Hosts are lovely people.

Negative: Nothing we didn't like. Phone reception is not great out there in that area depending on your phone carrier.
