Angus Potter and Lizzie Orange set up Chez Nous Zermatt to offer our guests a luxury holiday rental experience that feels more personal – more like staying with a friend than in a “vacation home”.
Le Corbassiere is a beautiful split level apartment on the third floor: 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the upper level and a beautiful living space on the lower floor with stunning Matterhorn views.
Great care has been taken to create a truly welcoming atmosphere: the large open-plan kitchen/living-room leads on to a full-width, south-facing balcony looking directly at the Matterhorn and also has a 65' home cinema system (complete with all UK channels and Apple TV) so you can get cosy in front of the fire watching a film or reading your book in the evening (or on bad weather days) and when it is time to sleep the beds are super-comfortable. We also make sure that "the basics" are in stock so that you can make tea/coffee and have a glass of wine without having to go shopping straight away!
If you are part of a larger group of family and friends then combining Le Corbassiere with one of our other apartments can allow you all to be together in the same building but free to retreat to own space when needed.
All the Chez Nous Zermatt apartments have large south facing balconies with 180 degree un-interrupted views straight out on to The Matterhorn, over towards Gornergrat and up the Trift valley . One of the only remaining fields in the village is just in front of us which gives a welcome feeling of space despite being so close to all the restaurants, the church bridge and the lift stations/bus.
Lizzie and Angus have lived in Zermatt for the last 10 years and will help you get as much as possible organised before you arrive (ski schools, restaurant reservations, lift passes, help with child care etc) so that you are free to enjoy your holiday. Once you get here you will be met at the station and brought up to your apartment by electro-taxi and our on-the-ground concierge will help you settle in and will be on hand to help with any questions throughout your stay.
The only practical point to bear in mind is that direct access to our building from street level (when you arrive and leave) is down 3 flights of stairs. However once your luggage is installed most guests then use the shortcut to the village via a path across the field in front of the house.

Summary: This is a great apartment with a great view of Matterhorn. Our host, Lizzie, was awesome and we felt well taken care off from the time we reserved the place until we left. She even woke up very early on our last day to ensure that our taxi arrived on time. The apartment was very clean and had an awesome kitchen. We would love to come back again in the future. .

Summary: First of all, Lizzie and her team were so helpful and communicative before, during, and after our stay. Truly first-class service. Secondly, the house is great. All of the little details are thought through: the kitchen, the bedding, the toiletries were all exceptional. Finally, the location. It's off the main streets so very quiet, but still within walking distance of everything. Cannot wait to stay again next year!

Summary: We spent 5 nights at one of the 3-bedroom apartments. What a treat!! This was probably THE nicest apartment we ever rented (in the same price class). It is beautifully and comfortably furnished, all the little details one enjoys were thought of. Bedding and pillows were very comfortable, the good reading lights were a plus. The kitchen was well appointed (including fondue pot and utensils), though we only cooked breakfast, except for one night when we enjoyed a fondue for dinner on the balcony. Upon arrival, we found fruit, milk, wine, chocolates, tea, coffee, sugar, and even some spices. These extras are rarely provided in the US. TV and sound system were superb, hiking maps were available, there was nothing we were lacking. The location is excellent with view of the Matterhorn, as shown in the photos. The building and surroundings were very quiet, a wonderful place to relax. Excellent location close to all the activities on main street (restaurants, bakeries, stores, mountain train, gondolas), all within walking distance. We spent 4 days hiking which was superb. We will come back to Zermatt and Chez Nous will be our first choice for lodging. We even met Lizzie and her husband, the most friendly and inviting people. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!! I would like to give a rating of 6 starts.

Summary: My husband and I stayed in the Chez Nous apartment for a few nights in May with family and it was perfect. Lizzie and Martin were extremely helpful and informative with everything from directions to recommendations. The apartment as fully stocked with everything we needed and more! We were able to cook our own meals in the incredible kitchen and eat them while looking at the Matterhorn. We highly reccommend this beautiful apartment and can't wait to be back!

Summary: We had a wonderful skiing holiday with Chez Nous Zermatt. Lizzie could not have been more helpful: before our arrival she organised our train tickets from Zurich, booked our ski guide, restaurants, ski passes and homemade food deliveries to the apartment. The apartment was great - very comfortable and it had everything we could possibly need, and the views were stunning! It was also very well located and we could walk everywhere. We loved our week in Zermatt with Chez Nous and we will definitely go back!
