Positive: The owner was wonderful – he personally approached us during our stay and constantly made sure we were comfortable. They even left a generous tray of goodies in the kitchen, which was such a thoughtful touch. The apartment itself was spotless and had everything we needed. We also got to use the gym downstairs, which was a lovely surprise we weren’t expecting. The view? Absolutely jaw-dropping. It made the whole stay feel incredibly special, and we’d love to come back again. Key collection was about a 5-minute walk from the train station — very easy to manage since I left our luggage with my partner, but it could be tricky for someone traveling solo. That said, the process itself was smooth and well-explained.

Negative: The location is about a 30-minute walk from the city centre, and taxis in the area aren’t very accessible. We didn’t mind the walk at all — it was scenic and peaceful — but it’s something to keep in mind. The price point is definitely on the higher side, more in line with a hotel, so it’s a bit expensive for what it is.

Positive: The view is absolutely beautiful. The house was clean and orderly. Very peaceful and quiet surrounded by nature and bird song.

Negative: Very, very bad check-in experience. It took me 2 hours to find the office for the keys to the house because they gave me the incorrect address. The house is a 25 minute walk from Varenna, and taxis are not reliable. Also, in the pictures it shows that there is a gym downstairs, but I was told upon arrival that it is only for the owners. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable, like sleeping on cardboard.

Summary: Beautiful home, but not worth the money.
