Canal View Cottage has the advantage of fabulous views overlooking the Canal du Midi and across the vineyards to the “Montagne Noire” in the distance. You can sit on the patio watching the boats navigate their way up and down the lock on the canal and watch the French people go about their everyday life. At the edge of a lovely village in the south Minervois of the Languedoc, right alongside the spectacular Canal du Midi & only 15min away from the famous walled Medieval Cite of Carcassonne. Both are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Both our independant gîtes 'Olive Tree' and 'Canal View' are fully equipped, each sleeping 4 + Cot, which can prove to be an ideal base to explore the many attractions in and around the area.
A large HEATED SWIMMING POOL 10m by 5m (32 x 16ft) with Roman steps for easy access and spacious surrounding terrace .(May - Oct) Both gîtes share the relaxing pool which is set in approx. 2 acre garden. 8 sun lounger’s and 3 reclining chairs are provided around the pool on the large decking and tiled surround, offering spacious and unobtrusive sunbathing area with extensive views of the hills and vineyards. Private off road parking in gated garden. Both gîtes have their own patios for BBQ and sunbathing. Ideal location for visiting the many attractions or just soaking up the sun. The Mediterranean Sea and beaches are 40min drive.

Canal View is well equipped with all essential items provided. Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Microwave, Induction Hob, Electric oven, large Fridge/Freezer, kettle, coffee maker, Toaster, Cool Box, Flat screen TV, DVD player, Radio/Hi-Fi. Free Wi-Fi, docking station for iPod/iPhone.
Large modern showers in each gîte. Clean, well maintained, freshly laundered bed linen & towels. We can provide Pool / Beach towels if you wish to save on luggage space.
Canal View has a patio for sunbathing and relaxing overlooking the gardens and canal. It has a dining table, two sunbeds and a stone BBQ for exlusive use. You can stroll along the tow-path of the Canal du Midi and watch the boats navigate their way through the lock. The gîtes are in the grounds of very friendly British owners who will respect your privacy.
Upstairs, Canal View offers a double and a twin bedroom. Towels and bedding provided. There is a rain head shower, washbasin + hair-dryer. Downstairs there is everything you need for a relaxing holiday away from home. Open plan area downstairs includes a sitting room area with sofa, armchair,TV/ DVD/VHS & discs, Radio/ CD player. Dining table & chairs with a kitchen offering all facilities. A full-sized oven / grill with induction hob and a large fridge/freezer. Our property is right alongside the Canal du Midi and great for walking or just sitting and watching the boats go by on the Canal du Midi. Supermarkets and shops are a short drive away but the village has a small shop selling different breads, cakes and a selection of groceries.
You are welcome to bring your bikes if you wish as there are some great routes for all abilities or alternatively bike hire can be obtained from the next village.
Its a perfect place to base yourself to explore the area.

Summary: This is a magnificent place to stay, right next to the canal du midi with beautiful walks out the front door. The hosts are wonderful, really friendly and helpful. The gite was well equipped and served us so well for a month stay. Highly recommended.

Summary: A comfortable, well presented property with lovely views of the Canal du Midi. It is ideally located for visits to Carcassonne, Cabrespine cave, lovely old French villages and wine tasting. Unfortunately, there was a strong wind during our stay so barbeques were not possible, however, the kitchen was well equipped to cook inside. Ann-Marie and Adrian were knowledgeable and kind hosts. We warmly recommend this property.

Summary: What a beautiful property and so nicely located right on a lock of the Canal du Midi. The property is clean, very comfortable and the hosts are extremely welcoming, but entirely discreet. Cannot recommend staying here highly enough.

Summary: Lovely holiday at Marseillette! The village itself is quiet and has not much to offer, but the location is great if you fancy a quiet and comfortable getaway to explore the region from! Carcassonne is only 20 minutes away, and lots of other things to explore (astonishing caves, great villages, hiking in canyons, kayaking, and cycling along the canal du midi. And don’t forget to taste wines from the region. The gite itself offers all you need, with BBQing with canal / lock view and the great pool and trampoline as a big bonus for the kids. Even end of April the pool was warm enough for a swim. Adrian and Ann Marie are great hosts. Accessible and friendly, though very respectful of your privacy. Thanks again!
