Summary: The house was very cozy and while updated, had a feel for days gone by. We did not use the fireplace. The land was a real draw - we had perfect weather with the autumn foliage. Every view was beautiful. Scott, the caretaker of the house, was very helpful. We stayed here to extend our time for a local wedding. It was a great place to unwind, relax, and just be.

Summary: Beautiful historic house with sprawling property and lots of privacy. The kitchen was well equipped, plenty of comfy seating areas, and a gorgeous fieldstone fireplace. Other reviews mentioned mice but I saw no evidence of them although I did store any baked goods that might attract them in the pie safe in the kitchen. Would definitely like to stay again.

Summary: It was a very serene stay, with the exception of the tree logging across the road, but it wasn't horrible. Plus, just walking outside and taking in the beautiful backyard had me mesmerized! The home was exceptionally stocked with all that one would require. It was the getaway I truly needed with my 2 littles! The property manager was kind & very helpful.

Summary: My wife and I stayed here with our two dogs and had a wonderful time. The place is a hidden gem in beautiful surroundings, exactly as shown in the pictures, in fact even better in real life. The host is very responsive and his friend that manages the property is extremely helpful and always reachable. The views are spectacular and the house itself is clean and very comfortable. It has everything you need including good Wi-Fi , while maintaining its historic charm. We would love to stay there again.

Summary: We loved staying in the Caleb Atwell house. We were four adults (not couples)--and the house fit us well. The pond was lovely, the kitchen well stocked with cooking implements, the beds were comfortable and the property manager, who lives just up the road, was very responsive. A few suggestions: The tenant guide in the binder in the house needs updating/culling and the house could use a deep clean. Unfortunately, there was a logging operating making a lot of noise our first two days; the last two days were quiet and heavenly. Once the logging is finished, I'm sure the cottage will be perfect for a stay. The hummingbirds were a delight to watch!

Summary: We had a lovely stay! The property was very clean and comfortable- The view in the field behind the house was breathtakingly beautiful- the pond was gorgeous! The hummingbirds that kept us company on the back porch as we relaxed were a great treat. The hand hewn beams and wide pine floors were so cool to see in this 1750 home- CHARMING! Louis (the host) and Scott (the caretaker) were very easy to communicate with- we had a great time! Thanks so much guys!!

Summary: Exactly as described and wonderfully isolated for a quiet weekend. Was there in the Winter, and had cross country skiing and snowmobile trail hiking to the max. Fireplace was absolutely awesome, and a very well equipped kitchen. Loved it

Summary: A well cared for cabin on a well tucked-away property. Plumbing, heat, and electricity work flawlessly, and the pond is a delightful and unique feature. About a one hour drive from Burlington airport, and a half hour drive from Montpelier, but sits on a very quiet and private plot. You couldn't find a more pure silence than at this place in the snow. Perfect place to escape for a little peace in a quaint New England setting. The owners are quick to accommodate and care about creating a pleasing experience.
