1 Bedroom Cabin in Camp Meeker

This is a true getaway. We searched the enitre area of the Russian River before we settled on this property. Camp Meeker is unique with its logging history, post San Francisco earth quake. After it was done as a logging camp it was developed as a vacation community. Families have owned properties for multi generations and some became full time residents. It is fun to hear the family histories and tales of days gone by. It is central to the RussianRiver, ocean, Redwoods, wine country, and all of the entertainment, activities, and open countryside of West Sonoma county. The cabin is a great place to leave your daily life behind and truly disconnect. We get some cell coverage, but its more a place to reconnect to each other. We enjoy sharing our space with friends and family, but both agree, it is best with just us two. We chose to not put TV, and all of the other distractions of daily life so that it would feel like time away from our daily life. We have shared some of our best meals in our backyard Redwood grove. It's a place to come home to after a day of enjoying what you love to do outside, enjoy a GREAT SHOWER and a fantastic night of rest. The entertainment available in West Sonoma county is endless, via festivals, wineries, and farm trails. Where there is wine there is great food. We are pet friendly to responsible and well trained owners of pets. It is necessary to advise us in advance of any booking request that includes bringing a pet. We do not have complete fencing, so your dog can not be left unattended out of doors and must have good indoor manners. We love the children we raised as I am sure you love yours, but our cabin is made as a true getaway..

Summary: The cabin has everything you need. It’s well decorated, quiet and roomy. The outside eating area in under some Redwoods and there is an adjacent firepit area. Parking for 2-3 vehicles. It’s a great location for a day trip to the coast. Perfect place to chill

Summary: I have stayed at numerous VRBOs and this was the most expensive but not the best. Location in the woods is beautiful. Think rain forest getaway. Location has road noise as vehicles struggle up the hill and turn at the property.Good stock of some supplies but zero toiletries so a trip to the store was required to cleanup after a day in the woods.Enjoyed my time at the home, and was comfortable, even though it was not one of my top VRBO stays.

Summary: Overall, the property is exactly what we were hoping for a weekend getaway. It was a clean and open space, had a very beautiful outdoor space in the woods (unfortunately too rainy to use, next time). Also the location is perfect for those who want to feel far away but close enough to everything. Occidental is just a short drive down the road, but you also have the option to go to Healdsburg, Jenner, Sebastopol, Guerneville and more within 15 - 30 minutes. Definitely hope to stay again!
