Positive: The grounds of this property are beautiful. The creek was a fun excursion with the dogs. The location to the SHSU was perfect for our needs. The cabin was cute and had everything we needed. The linens were clean and smelled good.

Negative: The cabin was a converted camper, which wasn't a problem, but it was hard to keep an even temperature inside.

Positive: We loved everything about this place. The cabin had everything we needed. The bed was so comfortable. The family that owns this place showed us an experience of a lifetime. We enjoyed swimming at their private beach. We enjoyed hanging out by the flowing river. We would definitely camp here again. I appreciate Victoria and her family sharing this hidden gem with us.

Positive: This is a great little rustic getaway right in the middle of some great national forests, state parks, and lakes just north of Houston. If you like easy access to the outdoors - including all the open space and creek access on the property. We loved seeing and petting the goats, who run out to the fence like dogs when you pull in. And you can't beat the farm fresh eggs from the chickens on property. We also loved sitting outdoors by the little water feature and reading in the mornings when it was cool. We loved grilling outside for dinner in the evenings and although we didn't have a fire there was wood and a fire pit available just 50 feet from the door.

Negative: The kitchenette could have been a little better appointed with some larger drinking cups and folks should be aware that there isn't a freezer in the mini fridge. If you can get by with a hot plate, a microwave, and a charcoal grill, you'll be in great shape.

Summary: Great rustic stay in the heart of outdoors country. Goats and farm fresh eggs!

Positive: It was peaceful being in our own area surrounded by trees with a barbecue, picnic table as well as a fire pit with two chairs! We loved having fresh eggs. We will be back when we can!

Positive: This place was perfect! My girlfriend and I spent the weekend in cabin #1 and loved it! The fresh laid eggs was a great touch along with the water fountain the burn pit with kindling and split wood stacked with logs at the bottom was excellent! We visited the beach, and went kayaking in the creek! It was a great experience we both loved our stay!
