Casa del Mar is located in Bahía Banderas between Bucerías and La Cruz de Huanacaxtle aprox. 20 km away from Puerto Vallarta. This is an amazing location since it gives you access to move around basically anywhere you wish to go in Bahia Banderas! Bucerías has great local activities besides its beautiful and fun beach; it offers delicious gastronomy like fresh ceviches and of course one of its local specialties, the decadent “Pescado Zarandeado” a fish that you must try if you enjoy fish and sea food in general. You can walk its streets and visit its lovely market or if you are feeling more adventurous you cannot miss the Art walk Night that starts every Thursday from Lazaro Cardenas street where you can enjoy buying art at good prices and try some mezcal and tequila from the local sellers. It’s a great opportunity to get amazing pieces and fun since it goes on until late at night!
I must mention La Cruz de Huanacaxtle since it also has much to offer. Enjoy Playa Destiladeras, a few km before Punta Mita, a peaceful beach to watch the amazing Vallarta sunsets, known for its white sands and calmed ocean waves. While you are there, try to make time to eat at Nahui Restaurant it has great fresh food. Another great beach to visit is Playa la Manzanilla perfect for kids with lots of shops and places to eat with very easy access. You can book a great sailing adventure with the family or a boat ride, both will be thrilling and full of picturesque sites. You can also do some sport fishing to dine your own catch of the day! If you enjoy diving visit Blue Tortuga adventures and dive away into an amazing, see marine environment… This are only a few of the many things you can do from where you are located, however Bahia Banderas bay has much to offer and only a few km apart pretty much everything! Summary: Beautiful home, perfect ambiance, property grounds are perfect. Beach access is steps away and the views are stunning. Josue and Gina were our chefs and exceeded all expectations - our family of 14 was beyond happy with them! Housekeepers were excellent!! I will not go into detail about the host as it will be a long negative review - please be aware of her additional rates for any extra services. Itzel does not narrow down the charges, she adds and hides her extra commission.

Summary: Property is beautiful with lots of space for large groups. We have stayed in many Punta Esmeralda units and this is the best one by far. Easy access to both Bucerias and La Cruz.

Summary: Very quiet and private, relaxing, spacious property on the beach. Security is constantly walking the complex. Great spot to easily view about a dozen species of birds, with a pelican roost directly in front on a breakwater.

Summary: The place was great. They told us that another party was coming in on the next day. So we asked for an hour or two extra. They said no. We asked if we could leave our bags by the front door and originally they said no and that we'd have to leave them out side. Later they did said we could leave them inside until our van arrived. For the price we paid and under the conditions, we didn't think we were asking for too much.

Summary: We were a group of 14, adults and children. The home has lots of space for everyone, the large kitchen/dining room and living room were perfect for our needs. We loved the pool and outdoor spaces, and the view! The beach is a disappointment - but we compensated by taking a taxi to a very pretty beach nearby. The complex grounds are lovely and there is a small bar/restaurant right next door. Some of our family members enjoyed the tennis courts. We hired two chefs and could not have been happier with the results. They were amazing and made our vacation complete.

Summary: We had a great time and loved the property. Beautiful, unique home and it had everything we needed. Excellent housekeeping and great communication with management. After some initial confusion upon check in, which was quickly and fully resolved by Maria, all we had a great stay!

Summary: Beautiful property, beautiful view. Farther from any towns than originally thought. House staff was good and came daily but would have been nice to have been stocked with a few house essentials. We wanted to do our laundry and dishes but were told we had to supply our own dish and laundry soap. The house staff was there to wash the towels every day but if we wanted to wash our own clothes we had to supply our own soap. For the price of the accommodation it would have been nice to have those small things. There is no store close by so it was a pain to have to work that out on our own. It also would have been nice to have basic essentials in the house like unlimited drinkable water, coffee, tea, oil, etc. Our house manager was available but not necessarily the most helpful.He didn’t offer much help. The massages were amazing at the spa on the property! Cash only though - FYI. We walked to both Bucerias and La Cruz but was tide dependent. About 40 min in either direction. We were able to get either taxis or Ubers to pick us up at the door which was super convenient. It is only about a 5 min cab to La Cruz and 10-15 to Bucerias depending on traffic. All in all we had an amazing time at this property. It fit our family perfectly and the pool and views are amazing! I would definitely go back but again, for the price you pay would be nice to have a few essentials included.
