Positive: The villa we rented was impeccably clean and exceptionally comfortable. The staff were courteous and attentive, making our stay pleasant and hassle-free.

Negative: We found the design bathroom area to be problematic. The bathroom area featured a glass door, and both the shower and toilet had clear glass doors. This lack of privacy made it uncomfortable for family members to use the facilities. Installing solid doors would greatly enhance the comfort and usability of these spaces.

Positive: Absolutely, one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. My stay in the Garden Villa room at Bubu Villa was truly magical. However, the highlight has to be the staff. Bubu Villa boasts the most experienced and friendliest staff I've ever encountered. I've never been treated like royalty at this price point, nor at any other accommodations in Perhentian. You must take advantage of the arranged snorkelling and island boat trips. There is a wonderful French tour guide named Ibtissem. I went with my partner, who cannot swim, and Ibti essentially became her instructor, making her feel comfortable and safe in the water (she held her hands and was her private swim instructor). She taught us a great deal about Perhentian and its marine ecosystem. We enjoyed the tours so much that we went on multiple excursions. Having an international tour guide was a strategic move by the Hotel, as she was well-spoken and had a bubbly personality, enhancing our experience tremendously. In fact, I'm planning to have my future wedding on the island. I want my entire family to experience snorkelling and tours hosted by Ibtissem (alongside Saufi & Khayrun). There is one particular site with some of the largest coral ecosystems, which Ibtissem can guide you to. This site has to be the best coral ecosystem on the West Malaysian Coast (I know this because I've visited other destinations like Redang and Tioman, and they come nowhere near as close). In summary, Bubu Villa offers an extraordinary experience, thanks to its exceptional staff and facilities. Ibtissem, in particular, stands out as one of the best tour guides I've ever met. Her expertise and friendly demeanour made our trips memorable and enjoyable. I can't wait to return! Bubu Villa employs international staff, unlike the majority of other accommodations.

Negative: NOTHING BAD BUT I have post-holiday blues right now. I will be pre-booking my annual island getaway trips every year and will bring along all of my friends and family (I will only stay BuBu Villa). Every penny spent on this vacation was worth it. For those working long hours at an office or living in a city, this is your destination to completely unwind. Perhentian Long Beach is part of my top three beaches – truly a magical beach that's beautiful. It's technically a bay, and the beach is shallow, stretches far out, and is very clean. I wish I was back on the boat, on a very sunny, cloudless day, with the cute Perhentian sea gulls flying and chirping in the background. I recall exactly how I felt seeing my girlfriend learning how to swim alongside Ibtissem guiding her – truly an unforgettable experience. Breakfast was fantastic, especially the French toast, and I thoroughly enjoyed my coffee. I would like to specifically thank the staff, Nasir and Waqar, who served us like kings around the clock. We enjoyed our daily free drinks and snacks, and the receptionist made check-in and check-out smooth and hassle-free. I highly recommend everyone to book their snorkelling trips through Bubu Villa/Resorts. Avoid third-party charters and opt for tours arranged by Ibtissem for an unparalleled experience. My previous experiences with other boat tours do not even come close. The local tour guides are rather timid and not as friendly; they just park the boat and shout for you to come back once the time is up. My partner and I were almost in tears when we had to leave. We had pre-booked a stay at the Marriott Hotel but would choose Bubu Villa over the international franchise any day. Bubu Villa ticks all the boxes, but the tour guide and staff at the reception and kitchen (kudos to BBQ chef, Alamine) make this place the number one hotel in all of Perhentian (even throughout all of Malaysia). You're paying for an unforgettable experience and exceptional service.
