Positive: The resort was great, the staff was extremely nice and friendly. The location is amazing, tough to beat. I liked that there weren't many other resorts nearby so it was a calmer atmosphere. The food is actually pretty good for resort food, I was pleasantly surprised. The beach is nice and the snorkeling is good around the hotel. It was nice to be able to use their snorkeling equipment, even when we went beach hoping on our own (not through the resort). We had a water refill station right by our room, which was nice.
Negative: The resort is in the straight jungle, so a little attention to sealing off the rooms would be nice. There was a crevice below our main door to our room and one night there was a GIANT gecko on our wall. I understand this is bound to happen sometimes but I think sealing up those holes could help prevent some of it. I thought it was strange that the resort doesn't offer any type of boat shuttle to the other beaches, even just once a day to one other beach would have been great. They did give us a whatsapp contact for a boat driver so we could find our own way, but the beaches around the islands are so much nicer than the beach there, it would be a shame for people not to visit the other spots just because they don't offer an option. Overall the room had everything we needed, but it was missing the finishes / touches that usually are present at beach resorts with this price tag (even in more remote areas). The room cleaning was strange, they always did a great job at the actual cleaning, but some days they would come automatically if we put our sign on our door and some days we had to message them to come.

Positive: Private, less busy than other hotels around the area and the staff were extremely courteous and friendly. Food was very tasty, and reasonable variety.
Negative: It’s old, and needs a lot more maintenance for them to call it a 5 star property. It isn’t 5 star and it is definitely overpriced for just the stay, food and drinks. Rooms were clean but old, balcony was not really usable as it had lizards staying there. Bathrooms had broken tiles. Games room is not really a games room with just one foosball table. Could have equipped it with more like a Xbox/playstation console (as there was a tv) , more board games, etc Lots of rocks and dead corals in the water. Needed to pay extra for the hotel’s snorkelling trips (all inclusive package instead of just the classic package) when it was already overpriced. Spa was overpriced too
