Positive: Location was really excellent, can’t fault that at all, just steps from Bikini beach and close to the main hub of the island (eat at shallow lagoon, it’s close, good food and very cheap!). The A/C was good, free drinking water also useful.

Negative: Towels and bedding were stained with blood which we didn’t like, but thought it was just poor luck (they had been washed you could tell). However, we were diligent with bug spray and closing the door to the bathroom to detract any biting insects (the shower has no roof, which is cool but slightly impractical-the bathroom was always very hot!), however, every morning we woke to fresh bites all over our body. We were convinced they were from mosquitoes, but after leaving the property and googling how the bites look, we’re pretty sure the place had bed bugs. The photos of the property on here are of the deluxe villas mostly and the standard rooms do not look like the photos. FYI, there is no fridge in the room and the tea and coffee facilities are in the communal area.

Summary: Bed bugs, but a great location! Expensive for what it is.

Positive: From the staff to the accommodation everything was perfect. The room was spotless. The food made by the chef is delicious and fresh and i've learnt its a spot in town to eat as outside guests also come! And the guys at the bar/front office are super attentive, funny and kind! I did go on a snorkeling tour, the equipment was included and we were super lucky to see sharks, lots of turtles and eagle ray and lots of fish!! My room was directly on the bikini beach which is perfect and you can swim on the coral there! They also took care of transport from and to the airport by speedboat i just called them and they told me to go the counter where everything is organised super smoothly! communication was consistent and kept during the stay and will definitely return!!

Positive: Perfect location. Literally less than a minute walk to the beach. Room has all you need - comfy bed and a decent shower. Breakfast is basic but it is what you will have in any local island. The food in the “fast food” restaurant is very yummy. Staff are brilliant, they will help you with anything.

Negative: It would be useful to have somewhere to hang clothes to dry.

Positive: The staff here are very attentive, polite, and professional yet friendly. The location is really good for visiting the house reef (at the drop off) at bikini beach over and over again.

Negative: It wasn’t immediately obvious that not all rooms are facing the beach so pay attention to book what you’re looking for.

Positive: The room was big enough with a comfy bed and the AC is placed strategically, so it doesn’t blow directly on the bed. The place also has a restaurant with amazing wraps and smoothie bowls and fresh juices. It is positioned 10 steps from the beach and on the beach some chairs are avaliable. Right in front of the beach lies a reef where you can snorkel and see all kind of marine animals from octopuses, colorful fishes to white and black tip sharks (harmless).

Negative: Windows are directed to hallway between rooms. One day cleaning started at 6:30 am and it was bit noisy so it woke us up.

Positive: We stayed there for four nights and would definitely book again. The Brickwood is just as described. We were picked up at the pier upon arrival and taken back there at the end of our stay. The check-in process was smooth, with a warm welcome and a short briefing. The open-air common area includes a small café, the reception, and a covered restaurant area where breakfast was served. The breakfast selection consisted of both local and international options, along with tea, juice, and fresh fruit – everything tasted great. On our first day, we also had lunch there and can recommend the wraps and sandwiches. We didn’t have dinner at the hotel, but we often saw other guests enjoying their evening there, even those who weren’t staying at the property. Our room, 106, was spacious but showed some signs of aging. We slept well, except when neighbors were talking on the phone right outside our door or leaving their rooms noisily early in the morning. The first six rooms are arranged in a tunnel-like layout, one directly behind the other, which causes sound to echo quite a bit. Unfortunately, the windows only face the hallway—except for room 105—so you either feel like you’re on display or have to keep the curtains closed all day. The bathroom featured an open-top shower, a bathtub, a sink, and a toilet. Unfortunately, only hot water came out of the shower, and despite several requests, no one came to fix it during our four-day stay. The room also had an air conditioning unit, which worked quietly and efficiently. The beach is just a one-minute walk away, only two corners from the hotel. It’s located right at the island’s popular tourist beach, known as Bikini Beach.
