Positive: We had an incredible stay at Blue EmOcean, and it was definitely the highlight of our trip! Andy, the owner, was fantastic from start to finish, always incredibly responsive and helpful with anything we needed before and during our stay. Mathias, our dive guide/instructor, was amazing. He is so friendly, knowledgeable, and informative. He took us to some of the best dive sites we’ve ever experienced. All the staff at Blue Em and on moyo island in general, were so welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help, which made the experience even more special. The food was also exceptional! We couldn’t recommend Blue EmOcean highly enough and I’ll hopefully be coming back later in the year for more diving :)

Positive: I did a 2,5 months tour in Indonesia, spended time in more than 30 places and I'll only review 2 of them, one of which is Blue EmOcean. This journey was the highlight of my stay! My partner joined me for the last 2.5weeks and being in Mojo previously during my tour I knew what to expect of the Island. When we arrived, we fell directly in love with this place, far from the village, located in the jungle and having a pristine coral reef we felt like being on our own exclusive little paradise. We've been welcomed by Andrew, Matthias and the rest of the family, consisting of 1 puppy and mother stray-dog, a teckel, a cat and a tortoise. The locals working there were very kind (like most of the Indonesians I met!), not very proficient in English but hey, We're on an Island in Indonesia! If you're able to look through the imperfections of some constructions, which, some previous reviewers complained about (By the way, It's not rated as a 5-star hotel!), You'll find a real hidden gem. The rooms are decent, good bed and yes, there are geckos present, For us this place was perfect, diving in wonderfull corals, waterfalls, nature,monkey's roaming the garden (afraid of humans) .....having spended 7 nights in a 5-star hotel previously and a 7- nights stay here, we were glad to leave the 5-star, but we coud have easily stayed here for much longer than 7 nights!

Positive: BAGUS!! This was the most epic spot to stay in Moyo. The jetty is right in front of the stay with incredible snorkeling, the reefs are extremely healthy and diverse. Andrew was the coolest guy, very very knowledgeable about the marine life and ecology of the island. He was more of a friend than a host in the best way possible. The dogs, puppies, kitty and staff made it feel like a home. Grateful to have spent a few days there. Will never forget this place and will definitely be back.

Positive: Great spot not far from town. Host Andrew can arrange pick up. Rooms location and ambiance are top notch. Food was really excellent as well. You are away from the construction a lot of other hotels near port have to deal with, which is a major plus. If your coming to moyo,.and want to feel what the island is about, this is the place.

Negative: Road getting to the hotel can be a challenge if you have a big bag

Positive: Blue EmOcean was a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. Andrew and Anne were responsive to our enquiries from initial booking and very helpful in arranging transport to the accommodation. Staff made seeing the sights very easy with adventures to waterfalls, nearby snorkelling spots and island trips, for a fair price. Blue EmOcean is located a couple of kms north of the nearest village, immediately on the beach with a pristine coral reef, a garden full of beautiful endemic butterflies, monkey visitors in the early morning and a resident deer and sausage dog. The restaurant had great vegetarian options on the menu, with consistently high quality and delicious meals. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet with high quality sheets and beautiful furnishings. I would highly recommend Blue EmOcean to anyone considering a trip to Moyo, you will be wonderfully looked after and enjoy one of the most beautiful and remote corners of the world.

Negative: Our room had a minor issue with ants in the bathroom. The aircon was not very effective, this wasn't a problem as the weather was mild.

Positive: Andrew has embarked on a passion project to bring this resort back from the almost dead and you can’t but admire the effort and ambition (and investment and sweat to do so). Moyo is already hard to get to, the motorbike from the jetty is 5km of diminishing quality and increased excitement (or anxiety depending on your mindset) but the remote pay off worth it - small pool, cold beer, nice food, great rooms (with gecko), private jetty and house reef, dive trips arranged, some kit available too.

Negative: As grown ups no one expects to be entertained or mollycoddled but need to be informed and that balance wasn’t quite there, unsurprisingly given how much there is to do to get the place up and functioning. Am sure this will change especially when dive boat fixed so a word to the wise is to be more inquisitive as to what the art of the possible is in this wonderful remote location wrt diving, snorkelling and also terrestrial options.

Positive: A secluded garden just outside of town and right on the beach with a beautiful reef and sunset view. We discovered one of our all-time favorite waterfalls just down the road. BlueEmocean was so peaceful, comfy and a nice selection of food on the menu for such a remote island. Andrew answered our many questions and helped us make travel arrangements, plus everyone we met on the island was so friendly and helpful as well!
