Positive: When we arrived in Iprali, we were delighted to find a guesthouse that felt perfect in every way. From the finely trimmed wooden cladding to the neatly arranged flower beds and garden, everything was beautifully maintained. The owners have clearly poured care into both design and practicality — power outages and cold showers, common elsewhere on the trek, seemed rare here. As we neared the end of our journey, Betegi offered the perfect balance of comfort and charm, helping us rest and recharge for the final stretch.

Negative: We would have loved more engagement from our hosts, as one of the joys of the trek was connecting with local families. That said, we completely understand the need for a well-earned rest after hosting so many weary travellers.

Summary: Immaculate, comfortable, and thoughtfully run — the perfect haven before Ushguli.

Positive: We stayed for one night only on our Mestia-Ushguli trekking tour - if I had known that this place was that beautiful I would have stayed longer! The room was really nice; it was the best one we had in Georgia! It had wooden parts and you can see that it has been built with love! It was very clean also. The view outside the window into nature was awesome. It was very quiet and rural. The bathroom was huge, very modern and spotless! There was a terrace for community use which was just incredibly beautiful. We had dinner at night and breakfast in the morning, both was extremely delicious and plenty with a huge variety of choices. We are vegetarian which was no problem at all. The food provided was so much that we couldn't finish everything. It was the best food we had on the whole trekking tour! The owner have a cute cat and a friendly dog. They let us bring our cat which was very nice. The lady who owns this place is incredibly friendly and warm-hearted. I wish I had been able to talk to her in Georgian language. I highly recommend this place!

Positive: Once we were allowed into the room it was perfectly adequate, with single and bunk beds. One of few places to stay in Iprari. The food was substantial but some items not freshly made for us.

Negative: For the only time in dozens of hotel bookings via booking.com and other companies, the owner tried to refuse us our room with a confirmed booking (reconfirmed also in writing). She said it was 'so late' when we arrived at 7.00 p.m as an excuse! (and initially tried not to understand our clear Russian or English to fob us off). As we were drenched and had walked for ten hours, with a teenager with us and no-where else to go as dark was falling, this was inexcusable. Especially when we found that the rooms on both sides of ours were empty also.

Summary: Adequate rooms, if one is not turned away at the door.
