Summary: We enjoyed our stay even with our hiccups. I personally did not vet the availability of the amenities because I truly didn’t know I needed to. So unfortunately those were not something we were able to enjoy. Bear Lake Reserve, the community, could offer folks a disclaimer for that since most are not familiar with, “on and off season”. We did get to enjoy one dinner at the lake club the last night we stayed. it’s a trek by car to the club from this property since it is 5 miles up and very winding roads.The lake is beautiful and the wildlife is heartwarming. I bet this place is amazing during the on season. In our 5 day 4 night stay, we ventured outside the gates to Sylva, Cashiers, Highlands, and visited Bridal Falls, and Dry Falls along our way. Overall we took full advantage of the surrounding towns and what the area provides. We were very lucky and had lovely weather. Thank you for hosting us Bill!

Summary: Our group had a wonderful Christmas at Black Bear Lodge! Our experience was exceptional from the time we checked in at the Greeter's Cottage until we left to head back home. William, our host, was very welcoming and informative. The amenities available at this pristine resort are many! Hope to come back again!

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay at Bear Lake. Excellent view, and we loved sitting in front of the fire place, and relaxing on the deck, This home was perfect for our family. Bill was such a great host and could not have been more friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back

Summary: We had a fabulous time! The house was incredibly well-equipped, and our stay was extremely comfortable. Having visited Bear Lake Reserve before, we had high expectations, and this trip did not disappoint. The kids and pup especially loved exploring the trails that were recommended, and the home provided the perfect place to relax after a long day of hiking. Check in and check out process was easy and owner extremely responsive. We would absolutely stay here again!

Summary: This was our second trip to Bear Lake and won’t be our last! We love the reserve and the surrounding areas of Cashiers and Sylva. This house is in a great location near the entrance of Bear Lake Reserve. It was clean, homey, and had a beautiful view! We also loved the screened in porch. It’s a perfect home for our long weekend getaways with the family and dog!

Summary: We had the most amazing stay at Black Bear Lodge. The house is beautiful and very well kept. The view is wonderful and sitting in the screened in deck was so peaceful. Our kids had a blast using the pools and marina area as well as fishing in the Mill Pond. The owner was fantastic and gave us excellent hiking and fishing recommendations. We will be coming back!
